Travis: No, THOMPSON!

Brody: What? When the fuck did that happen? Who are you married to?

Travis: He’s married to Skylar.

Zach: Oh yeah, old news man.

Travis: WHAT? You KNEW? *mind blown emoji*

Zach: Mandy told me a couple of days ago but said we were keeping it on the down low.

Travis: Rude, why couldn’t I know?

Brody: You’re a blabbermouth.

Travis: RUDE!

Dyllan: Shut it, all of you. Yes, Skylar and I are married. We got married in Vegas, but she didn’t want to ruin Brody’s big day by telling everyone.

Zach: Come by the bar tonight and we can celebrate.

Travis: You mean get all the deets.

Dyllan: Fine. See you fuckers tonight.

Dyllan threw his phone on his desk and rubbed his face with his hands. Skylar was going to kill him if that was the way Kade and Brody found out about them. At least it wasn’t on him for actually telling them. He couldn’t deny he was happy it was finally out in the open. He was tired of hiding his marriage. Tired of pretending like they weren’t even friends, let alone husband and wife.

A knock on his open door drew his attention to his blonde bombshell of a wife. Draped in a blue floral-print dress that hugged her glorious breasts and flared out at the waist, she looked like she walked off a fifties pin-up calendar. He couldn’t draw his attention away from her bright red lips, imagining what they would look like wrapped around his cock.

“Dyllan?” Her soft voice rang through his office.

“Yes, babydoll? To what do I owe the pleasure?” he asked, dragging his gaze back up her luscious body.

“I didn’t know if you’d eaten yet, so I brought you lunch.” She held up a to-go bag from the cafe.

The scent of fried food filled his nose, and his stomach grumbled.

“I think that answers that,” she said with a laugh.

Crossing the office to his desk, she stacked some of the papers and placed them on the corner of his desk to make room for the food. Taking the cartons out of the bag and placing them in front of him, she snuck a glance at him. “I don’t want to stick my nose where it doesn’t belong, but have you thought about going paperless?”

Dyllan grunted. “Don’t get me started. I’ve been trying since I took office, but the town won’t hear of it.”

“Why not?” she asked, grabbing her salad and sitting in the chair across from him.

“Because certain people in the town think their information will get hacked if they have computers, so they refuse to use or buy them.” He shook his head, thinking of the last town hall meeting where he’d brought it up.

“I think I can guess who one of them might be.” The corner of her mouth lifted in amusement.

“How did your run-in with the town grump go?” he chuckled.

“I thought you held that title, Grumpy Bear.”

“You’re full of jokes today. But seriously, he didn’t give you too much trouble, did he?”

“Nah, nothing I couldn’t handle.” She waved him off as she opened her box.

Dyllan moaned as he opened the cardboard carton to find a deluxe cheeseburger and fries. “How did you know?” He didn’t wait for an answer as he grabbed the gooey burger and took a big bite.
