“Business talk is off the table for the night.”

It has to be me, but his voice sounds huskier than usual.

He shocks me again when he downs the mojito I just handed him, takes mine out of my hand, and places both glasses on the tray of a waitress who passes. There’s no time to ask what he’s doing before he takes my hand and pulls me toward the growing dance crowd.

“It’s probably better if we don’t talk at all,” he says, low by my ear. “Show me how you move,” he commands at the same time, his hands moving to my hips.

An upbeat Cardi B song starts playing. People around us are dancing and laughing as they sing along to the music. My hands find their way around Kyle’s neck, and in the blink of an eye, we’re both moving against one another to the music.

I thought this man was stiff and unyielding in our previous engagements, which doesn’t typically make for a great dance partner. I don’t know if it’s the mojito he just swallowed or something else, but Kyle Townsend is anything but stiff as we grind against one another on this beach.

“You’re not bad,” I say, unable to keep the surprise out of my voice.

“Shshsh,” he shushes, his lips brushing against my ear. “No talking.” His hand moves up to cup my cheek, and his thumb covers my lips, silencing any retort I might have.

On instinct, I part my lips and brush my tongue against his thumb. Kyle’s eyelids lower, and his other hand tightens on my hip, pulling me into his body.

Without losing the beat of the music, he holds me against him.

Oh my god! I scream in my head as I feel a very big, very hard presence in his pants.

There’s no way that thing can be real.

Kyle’s lips twist into a sideways grin as if he can read my thoughts. And if I said he lacked humility before, I take that back. I highly doubt Kyle Townsend has ever been in the same vicinity as humility a day in his life.

He leans down again, his lips so close to my ear that I can feel his warm breath as it brushes against my skin. My core temperature rises by five degrees.

“Don’t worry. He doesn’t bite. Unless I tell him to.”

Yup, that huskiness I was questioning earlier is now undeniable.

“Keep him to yourself,” I reply, my voice thick with emotions I can’t even name.

He chuckles. “We both know you’re full of shit.”

“Excuse you?” I pull back and glare at him. I have to fight hard to hold on to my little bit of anger when I see how he grins at me. There’s a sparkle in his eyes. That’s the moment I know Kyle had a few drinks before that mojito. I don’t know if I’m more disappointed to see that the alcohol has caused him to let his guard down even slightly around me or if I’m happy about it.

“If I—” He starts but stops when someone approaches us. His hand presses into the small of my back, bringing our bodies to flush against one another.

“I see you took my advice,” Diego Townsend says as he looks curiously between Kyle and me.

“Maybe,” Kyle replies.

Diego pulls back slightly, and a grin splits his lips.

Damn. What the hell is in the water in the Townsend household? Diego’s only an inch shorter than Kyle, his skin a shade or two darker, a rich copper tone, and he has dark, curly hair. His eyes are a shade of brown, but there are gold flecks in them. He’s as gorgeous as his cousin, although the two look nothing alike.

“Riley Martin, nice to see you again,” Diego says as he folds his arms across his chest. The muscles in his arms bulge as he does so. “This is interesting.” He draws out the words as his eyes drop to where Kyle still holds me against his body.

“Did you want something, cousin?” Kyle demands.

Diego runs a hand over the back of his head and chuffs. “Yeah.” He pauses when something in the distance catches his eye. The affable nature drops as his face takes on a scowl. “Is that …” He trails off.

“What?” Kyle asks as Diego continues to glare. “Oh shit,” Kyle murmurs when his gaze follows his cousin.

I try to turn to look at what they’re both seeing, but Kyle’s hold prevents me from turning around.

“That motherfucker,” Diego growls. He starts off toward whoever he’s glaring at, but Kyle throws up an arm, stopping him.
