With her still quivering, I rolled her onto back and entered her, feeling her cunt still pulsing around me. I moved slowly at first, relishing the sensation of being inside her tight warmth.

“Gods,Sihaya,“ I groaned, my voice rough. “You feel so fucking good.”

I increased my pace as she clenched around me, panting out my name. Her hands grabbed hold of mine and she pulled me closer as I thrust hard against her slick walls. Pinning her wrists above her head, I pressed our bodies together in a wet slide. The pleasure built within me until it was almost unbearable and our breathing became ragged in unison.

I dipped my head, taking one of her nipples into my mouth.

“Yes, Theron,” she groaned. I flicked the tight bud with my tongue, savoring how she clenched my cock with each movement. Her legs wrapped around my waist as I drove deeper and faster.

“Come for me,” I demanded as my sac drew taut, needing to have her finish first.

Kael shuddered beneath me, arching up to meet each thrust as she came again, her cunt clenching my cock. With a roar of pleasure, I followed, spilling myself into her depths with one last thrust before collapsing on top of her in blissful exhaustion. I didn’t want to pull out of her, the sensation of connection was better than anything I’d ever experienced.

Sliding off of her with a contented sigh, I grabbed the cloth from the side table and wet it under the bowl of water nearby. I wiped us both clean before returning to bed. Kael snuggled close, an exhausted but satisfied smile on her face.

“That was amazing,” she murmured against the ache in my chest. “I could get used to this.”

“Me too.”

I almost told her I loved her but held back. The words were there on the tip of my tongue, ready to tumble out. But I wasn’t sure how she would respond. The last time hadn’t gone well... and it wasn’t something I wanted to experience again. Instead, I pulled her closer, drifting off into sleep in each other’s arms.

Chapter 7

Kael

Earlymorninglightfilteredthrough the cracked door into the chamber, illuminating the room with a soft, warm glow. The warmth of Theron’s arms wrapped around me was the only thing that mattered. I closed my eyes and buried my face in his chest, inhaling the comforting scent of him. At this moment, everything else fell away—the looming war, the political turmoil, the impending battle. None of it made a difference as long as I had Theron beside me.

The door slammed open with a bang and I leaped up, my hand already reaching for my sword.

“What the hells?” I glared at Raenisa and Roza, who stood in the doorway, their faces both set in grim lines. Theron’s grip on me tightened, his eyes narrowing at the intrusion.

“This better be good,” he growled.

“They have encircled the city in the night,” Raenisa reported curtly, her eyes scanning the room. “Cover your tits and let’s get going.”

“If she can even walk after last night,” Roza scoffed.

“I don’t like this,” I complained, gesturing between them as I pulled up the blanket to conceal my chest. “You two together is way too much sarcasm this early in the morning.” Theron’s chuckle vibrated through me, his lips brushing against my temple.

He rolled out of bed, not bothering to cover himself. Raenisa didn’t even blink, but Roza let out a muttered curse.

Theron smirked. “You’re the one who came into our bedroom uninvited.”

Roza’s cheeks flushed a deep red, contrasting with her iridescent scales, and she turned to me. “Can’t you control him?”

“Nope.” I shrugged and dressed in the new leathers Mirijana had set out for me. They were white, and made of thick hide that had been treated with special oils to make it stiffer and more resistant to wear and tear. They fit like a second skin while still allowing for freedom of movement that better served me in combat situations as well as when dashing through narrow city streets or scaling walls. There would be no mistaking me on the battlefield, not that my hair allowed much concealment, but I loved them all the same. I put the tiara on again, happy to have access to my celestial metals once more, even if I felt foolish wearing it with my armor. Maybe I should check the armory for more celestial metals?

Theron contemplated me. “I wish you had more protection. I could have my bone armor refashioned to fit you.”

Raenisa cleared her throat. Turning his attention back to his second, Theron’s expression grew serious as he strapped on his chest plate. “Tell me about the host.”

Raenisa launched into an assessment of the forces surrounding the city. “Trevyr’s division is on the western front, consisting mainly of light infantry and longbowmen. The northern front is held by heavy infantry and siege equipment, while the southern front is guarded by a contingent of heavy cavalry.”

I interrupted her. “Is it just Trevyr, or has Tannethe come as well?”

“No, just Silver Eye and Tykas,” Raenisa replied, her voice steady.

I frowned, trying to recall who Tykas was. The big, lumbering brother?
