“Just tell me where you need me.”

And when they left the room an hour later, they both felt a lot better. All over.

nineteen

Becca couldn’t remember beingthis happy in a long time. Sure, part of it was the amazing sex and the orgasms she’d had in the past twenty-four hours. But she and Beau were going to try dating. That was making her even happier than the orgasms. She could get those other places. Not as good as the ones Beau gave her, of course, but nothing could compare to knowing that she and Beau were going to try to make this relationship thing work.

“So are we going to admit that we’re dating? Let somebody get the trophy and the reserved table at Ellie’s?” she asked as they located the big table full of Landrys and friends across the casino buffet.

Beau sighed. “I think they’re going to know.”

“I guess we leave it to them to battle out who is actually the winner. Unless they make the trophy into some kind of traveling trophy.”

“Yeah, the reserved table at Ellie’s is less of a draw for them. They already have reserved tables there.”

She laughed and nodded. “But that trophy is going to be something they pass around happily.”

He lifted their linked hands and pressed a kiss to the back of her knuckles. “Honestly, I can’t be mad.”

She grinned up at him. “I’m glad.”

She knew that Beau felt a bit of a sense of obligation here. Now that they’d slept together again, and she was taking a new job, he no longer had any reason to fight her on getting back together. But she also knew that he wasn’t entirely convinced this was going to work.

That broke her heart a little bit. But it would just take time. A year or two from now, he’d be convinced and they could move ahead. They could get married, start a family, decide where they were going to live. Maybe they should live in a little community outside of Autre. Someplace where they could start new.

But those were all conversations for a later date. One step at a time.

They approached the table, and everyone turned to look at them at once.

Yeah, there was no way they were going to miss that she and Beau had gotten together last night.

“Well, good morning, you two,” Owen Landry, one of Beau’s cousins’ cousins greeted, settling back in his chair and linking his hands behind his head. He was giving them a huge grin and looked very smug about something.

“Good morning,” Becca said calmly taking a seat in the chair Beau pulled out for her at the end of the table. Beau dropped into the seat next to hers.

“I choose the cornbread muffins,” Owen said. He was addressing his grandmother.

Ellie had made the trip to Vegas with them. She was a huge Jason Young fan and had informed them all that if anyone was going to his show in Vegas with the seats right up front and backstage passes to talk to Jason, it was going to be her.

She was wearing her tour t-shirt this morning and looking better rested than everyone else by far. She scoffed. “The cornbread muffins aren’t your favorite thing on the menu.”

“No, I decided instead of naming my favorite thing after myself, I’m going to name something that people order a lot. I can’t wait to hear all these people ordering Owen’s Nice and Firm Sweet Corny Muffins. Sounds dirty and funny at the same time.”

“We’re not naming them that.”

“You have to.”

“You think you get to come up with the name?” Ellie asked.

Owen shrugged. “Obviously.”

“That was not part of the deal. You get to choose the item, but I can name it. And why would I name it something stupid?”

“You didn’t say that you get to name it. I want to see the fine print.”

“There’s no fine print. It’s what I decide.”

Becca looked at Maddie, Owen’s wife. “What’s going on?”
