But that thought was only able to flash through her mind briefly before his hand slid down her back to cup her ass and bring her forward, against his erection. His very big, very hard erection.

He didn’t hesitate to deepen the kiss. She met him stroke for stroke. The hand that had been on his cheek slid to the back of his head and into his hair as she gripped the front of his shirt with her other hand.

He walked her backwards until the backs of her knees hit the bed. He followed her down onto the mattress. Her fingers immediately went to the hem of his shirt and she stripped it up and over him. Her fingers greedily traced the lines of his chest and abs. God, she’d missed touching him. He was always so hot, hard, so real and rough. He made her feel hot and safe, sexy, and loved all at the same time.

He rolled so that he was pressing her into the mattress with his body. One leg came up between her knees. As his thigh pressed between her legs, she ground against him unabashedly. One big hand coasted under the edge of her shirt in the back and then around to one breast. His thumb played over her nipple and she gasped.

“Yes, Beau,” she said against his mouth.

“Jesus, Becca, you feel so fucking good.”

“Make me feel even better,” she pleaded.

Her fingers dug into the muscles of his back and she thrilled at the feel of them bunching as he touched her. He played with her nipple as he kissed her deeply, then dragged his mouth down her throat.

“Such a bad idea. I will never get enough of you.”

“I’m not over you,” she said. “Even as long as it’s been. Even though we’ve tried to stay away from this. I want you. I’m still in love with you.”

He froze.

Dammit.

She reached up and cupped his face, forcing him to look at her. “You know that. Don’t act surprised. Don’t act like this is some shock that changes everything. I love you. And you’re still in love with me.”

He closed his eyes and sucked in a breath through his nose.

“Beau, look at me.”

He opened his eyes. There was a mix of emotions in them. Heat, resignation, affection, but yes, love.

“Say it,” she said. “Tell me that you’re still in love with me. Or tell me that you’re not. Tell me you’re over me. Tell me this is just a quick fuck—that’s fine, by the way. But you have to say something. Tell me where we’re at here.”

“Jesus, Bec,” he said, his voice hoarse. “Of course, it’s not a quick fuck. Of course I’m not over you. I will never be over you. I’m crazy, madly, deeply in love with you. That’s the entire problem. Having you right there, in Autre, next door, within reach every day, is tearing me up.”

Her heart swelled as heat and love andreliefburst through her. She arched against him. “I’m in reach now.”

He gave a short laugh, then pressed his forehead to hers. “The town’s winning.”

She laughed. “No. They’re trying to get us back together, to fall back in love. But we never fell out of it.”

He gave a groan, and kissed her again, deep and hot, but this time it was slow.

He dragged his hand down her side to her hip, then around to undo the snap and zipper on her jeans. He slid a big hand into the front of her panties without preamble.

“Beau!” She gasped.

“I’ve got to have you like this.”

“You can have me any way you want. You cantotallyhave me.”

“Just like this,” he said again. His middle finger moved over her clit, circling, making sparks shoot out through her body.

She gasped, and arched closer. “Take them off, I want you too.”

“I need to feel and hear you come. It’s been too long.”

“Yes, agreed,” she said, reaching for his fly. He grabbed her hand, pressing against the mattress over her head. “Like this. Just you.”
