Mason absolutely shatters my world as his tongue connects with me, tracing the most phenomenal patterns I have ever experienced over my already hyper-sensitive clit. There’s nothing I can do. I’m completely powerless as he drives me to the peak of the mountain. He takes me so high that I feel like I will never stop soaring...

He’s a madman on a mission, determined to coax the orgasm from me, and there’s nothing I can do but savor every single glorious moment of this feeling... that is, until I fall.

The burning hot pleasure absolutely shatters through my body, affecting every cell within me. The tsunami of waves is overwhelming, I barely even recognize the screams flying out of my mouth any longer. Now I’m an animal as well, all because of him.

I want him, I need him... but I also know that I need to, in the midst of all this heat and passion, gather up whatever strength I have inside to end this here and now. I might not be able to easily refuse this man, but at the same time, I’m not going to give myself that easily at all.

“I... I have to go,” I just about manage to stammer out as I prop myself up onto my elbows. My vision is blurry, the desire and bliss still exploding like fireworks within me. But I can still see Mason, looking like a freaking God between my legs. It’s going to bereallyhard to walk away from him when I can see how badly he wants me, but I know I need to. I will thank myself later, right?Right? “I need to... to... Brian will be looking for me.”

Instead of making me stay, which I kinda thought he might, Mason lets me go easily. But he has something to say before he lets me out that door. He leans on the door frame, his arm above my head, leaning in closer to me, a shit-eating grin playing on his lips.

“You’re mine now,” he growls in a low and seductive tone. “I can feel it. You belong to me. I think you know that as well, don’t you?”

His eyes lock in on mine, and I can see what he means. He really does feel like he has a claim over me in a very intense way. I part my lips, wishing I can find something to say. Anything. It doesn’t even need to be something smart or witty—although I kinda wish I could impress him in that way—just words, any words.

But Mason is still whipping the air from my lungs, and I can’t say a thing. I don’t know if I will be able to talk for a very long time. It really does feel like I’m just a husk of my former self, unable to gather myself back up off the floor.

With those words burning in my cheeks, I slip out of the room, trying to preserve my innocence a little while longer. But if Mason has claimed me as his own, I don’t know how long I can do that. Dear God, if he keeps looking at me like that, with that powerful stare that sends a shudder tearing down my spine, then I might be naked within moments. Innocence gone...

MASON

The clock has hit five am before the last stragglers finally get the hell out of my house, thank God. Urgh. I know that parties like that are essential, and not just for fun and to blow off some steam, but for my pack as well. To keep things progressing in the right direction.

“Fucking pigs,” I mutter as I move in and out of the mess scattered everywhere. Red solo cups, food packets, crumbs... they really are fucking animals. It’s a good thing I can afford a cleaning crew that will be arriving in a few hours, or I would bepissed. How dare other packs come intomyhome and leave it like this? At my fucking expense. “What bastards.”

They might all live in shittier situations, but just because I can afford a life like this doesn’t mean they can come along and walk all over me. It’s bullshit. The guys better have some good information for me to make all of this worth it.

“So?” I ask as I join my pack at the end of my dining table. “What do you have for me?”

I glance around my guys who are now finally having a drink. I know it must be hard for them to play drunk all night long among actual annoying people, but weneedthis. While I wait for them to say something, I cast my jacket aside and flick my tie over one shoulder, before unbuttoning the top button of my shirt and rolling up my sleeves. Now is the time forrealbusiness; to discuss what we’ve learned from everyone else...

“I think we have seen some good wolves who could be great assets,” Sledge, my second in command, comments. “I’ve been surprised by all the power and wit I’ve seen tonight.”

I like hearing that. Good assets are exactly what we need. I want to bring good wolves intomypack so I’m the one who ends up with all the power and influence in Chicago. That’s the way I need things to go. I really believe that’s the way it’s meant to be.

“But I have spotted some potential future threats,” Cain joins in, in a much darker tone of voice. “I really think we need to look into the Grays. I don’t trust them at all. It might be a good idea to...” He makes a slicing gesture across his throat. “Get rid now.”

I nod slowly. Ridding the world of packs I consider a threat is another way I keep my power. I can’t have threats to my pack. I have to take them out sooner rather than later. As the muscle of the group, it’s no surprise that Cain is the one who spotted this negativity in another pack. I take everything he says seriously.

“I made some good connections,” Adam says with a soft smile, showing off his sweeter, mindful side. He’s always been very in touch with his senses, man and wolf. “But I agree. The Gray clan is one that I get a bad feeling about. I can’t explain the sensations I got talking to them, but I don’t think they are good for us.”

“So, the general consensus is the same then?” I check around the room. “We like the Connolly’s, the Webbers, the Buchan’s, and the Robinsons... we’re considering those packs to become a part of our pack, either now or in the future. But the Grays...”

“They need to go,” Cain agrees. “We need to get rid of them. Like, sooner rather than later.” His fists curl up by his side. I can already see the temper burning through his body, practically exploding in his veins. “We need to do it today.”

“What did you think of the alpha?” Sledge asks me curiously. “You spent a lot of time with him, right? How did things go with the meeting?”

I sigh heavily to myself. “Well, I guess I came out with the same impression as you guys. Connolly was quiet, but he seemed thoughtful and had a couple of good ideas. Webber... he was outspoken, but in a respectful manner. He didn’t get on my nerves. Although I will keep an eye on him. Buchan...” I cock my head to one side and then the other. “Yeah, he was a little closed off, but fine. I couldn’t get the best read on him, but I think it’s fine.”

“I bet you liked Robinson, right?” Sledge asks in a bemused tone. “He’s very like you.”

I nod and smirk. “Yeah, I got good vibes from him. But Gray was a bit of a big mouth, boasting about big numbers of strong soldiers as if he has any place in Chicago. As if we haven’t been here for generations. Fuck that guy.”

“So, we do this then?” Cain sounds pleased. “In the morning.”

“Before we get to that.” I hold up a hand to stop him in his tracks before he gets too carried away. “Did anyone see anything that might be theyou know what?”
