It made her want more. Want it all.

She knew.Knew.Dane Landry had somehow gotten under her skin and one time, one night, was not going to be enough.

But it had to be. She shut off her mind. Now was all about feeling. And she wanted to feel it all.

She shifted her weight until she was straddling his hips. She slowly rubbed her wet core over his cock, and he flexed up, grinding his heat against her slick folds. She raised her hips and then lowered herself down onto him. First, she just let the tip enter her. Teasing him, she pulled back.

He swore. His eyes were a midnight blue.

She lowered herself again. This time, she took in more of him. She started to pull back, but he grabbed her hips with a growl and brought her down hard on top of him. He filled her up completely, and she let out a moan. He felt so damn good inside her.

He gripped her hips to guide her to his rhythm. She rode him, picking up the pace. The way he filled her was pure pleasure. Her breath puffed out in small, sharp gasps. She was going to come. She said his name and urged him on, her hips rushing to meet his thrusts. She teetered on the brink and had to bite her lip to keep from screaming.

He drove deep inside her, and she crashed over the edge, euphoria filling her every cell.

Dane cried out as he came, “Mac!”

Her body kept squeezing him as wave after wave of her orgasm washed through her.

She fell on top of his chest, sweaty and out of breath. That had been fucking amazing. “Again,” she demanded.

Dane gave a slow, sexy chuckle that rumbled out of his chest. “Absolutely. I’m here for you as many times as you want.”

He rolled her over onto the bed and started kissing her neck when the sound of a cell phone filled the room. “Shit.” He was off the bed and reaching for his jeans in a fraction of a second. “Landry,” he said as he answered the phone.

“Yeah.” When he looked at Mac, her heart stopped in her chest. His entire body stiffened slightly and his mouth firmed into a straight line. “I’ll ask. Give me five.” He ended the call.

“That was Cain. Tom Rutledge called Admiral Bertrand. He wants to sit down with you. The admiral passed along the message.”

She stared at Dane. He was still naked. All she wanted to do was spend the rest of the night in his arms, go back to where she felt safe and secure. Happy. She swallowed. “When?”

“Now. Cain is supposed to call him back and give him a location.”

She sat up, suddenly conscious of her nakedness. She dragged the coverlet over her torso. “What do you think?”

Dane clamped his jaw shut and gave a slight shake of his head. “I can’t advise you on this one. It’s your career. If Rutledge reached out to the admiral, then there’s got to be a lot at stake.”

She sighed. “So, you think I should do it.”

“Hell no! I think I should take you and run like hell. Get the first plane off this rock and get you somewhere safe. But it’s not up to me.”

Her heart squeezed tighter in her chest. Dane cared. It was stupid for that to matter, but it did. A lot. She should be determining her future but instead, she was acting like a high schooler asked to the prom. Still, he cared, and she immediately felt stronger because of it.

“Okay, I’ll meet him. But only him. Pick a spot you think will work. He’ll have all the CGIS resources on his side, so choose wisely.” She clambered off the bed and laid a hand on his waist. “In case you’re wondering, I have no idea where that would be.”

He picked up his cell and hit a button on the screen.

She dropped her hand lower and stroked him. “I want a rain check,” she murmured and then headed for the bathroom.

Thirty minutes later, they were sitting at a restaurant in downtown Honolulu. The popular seafood place was packed to the gills. Mac had no idea how they managed to get a table, let alone in a quiet corner in the back.

The whole team was there, some outside to watch the street and some inside to watch the crowd. Dane and Cain sat at the table with her. She’d asked them both to stay. One, she really did feel stronger with Dane beside her, and two, she wanted Cain as a witness. If it ever came out that she was sleeping with Dane, then his statement would be discounted, so Cain had to be there as well.

“He’s here. Walking in.” Jace’s voice sounded in her ear. He was sitting at the bar. Tac had remained out front, monitoring who came and went. Cass was renting a different SUV and then was to come back to watch the street with Tac. Mac refrained from touching her ear as she was having a bit of an issue getting used to the earbud. It wasn’t something she’d used before. It was like her Air Pods only flesh-colored, and they fit differently.

Rutledge entered by the hostess stand. He asked for them presumably because the waitress pointed him back toward their table. He looked tired. Older somehow. She must look the same. Amazing what a couple of days could do.

He was wearing a T-shirt and jeans. As he approached the table, he held his hands up, making sure they were in plain sight. He wasn’t a fool. She’d give him that. But what was he?
