Tears pooled in her eyes as she stared at me.

Closing the distance between us, I placed my hands lightly on her hips to stop her from running and I let the warmth of her body leak into me. When I spoke, my voice was lower than I expected, heavy with the emotion that was bubbling inside me. “I sleep on the right, because you sleep on the left, although most nights we end up in a mass of twisted limbs in the middle of the bed and I love it. Favorite TV show isSons of Anarchy, color is dark blue… pretty much the same color as the dress you’re wearing and food is Thai after you ordered me the best Thai ever when we first met. And this is how my lips feel.”

I dipped my head and paused, giving her the chance to say no, but instead, her lips parted slightly, her tongue flicking over them briefly. I kissed her softly, pressing my mouth to hers. I’d meant to end it there. But when she moaned, her hand grabbing at my t-shirt, I knew I never wanted to stop.

My palm cupped her cheek while my other hand moved to the small of her back, my heart hammering in my chest as her body melted into mine and her tongue pressed against the seam of my lips. Our kiss deepened, growing frantic as we explored each other's mouths.

In the movies, this would be the moment where her memories came flooding back and she opened her eyes remembering how much she loved me, but in real life we kissed until we were breathless and my cock leaked with excitement, soaking the front of my boxers, but her memories didn’t magically appear.

“We should stop,” she mumbled reluctantly against my lips.

“We should,” I lied, because I didn’t ever want to stop.

Stepping back, she looked up at me, our hands still fused to each other’s bodies. “Like I said, Arch… my body seems to remember you fine, but my head and my heart, they don’t. I’m so sorry.”

A smile curled the corners of my lips.

“What?” she asked, confused.

“Two things. Firstly, you called me Arch, not Archer. That name on your lips after all this time, it sounds fucking epic. Secondly, you offered me your body before you gave me your heart when we first met, so it’s no wonder it remembers me. I’m not asking you to do that now, but it gives me hope.”

“Hope for what?”

“For us.” I ran my finger along her jaw. “Your body might remember me, but so does your soul. I just know it. Even though you had no idea who I was, your walls are filled with pictures of me. Your body reacted to me like it had known me for a lifetime and my name fell from your lips like they were made to say it. Tell me you feel it; a familiarity that you can’t explain.”

“Being around you feels like deja-vu,” she whispered, dropping her face to the ground.

Collaring her neck, keeping my grip light, I spoke. “I don’t care if you don’t remember our past, how we got together, how we fell in love. I care that you’re here now and we get another chance. How many people say that they got to fall in love twice?”

“But, what if—”

“If you don’t get those feelings for me again, then I’ll walk away. I promise. But let me try.” I pressed a kiss to where her pulse hammered in her neck, making a soft gasp slip from her lips. “Let me show you what your soul already knows—that we’re meant to be together.”

“How?”

“I don’t know. Honestly, I have no clue.”

“Okay,” she agreed.

“Okay?”

“Yes.”

I couldn’t hide my beaming smile, but Nee responded by yawning.

“It’s been an emotional couple of days. I’m going to go. I’ll call you in the morning though, yeah?”

“You wanna stay?” she asked, almost sounding nervous. “Order some Thai? Apparently, it’s my favorite too.”

“Yeah, I’d like that. Why don’t you order? I need to pop outside and let my bodyguard know. The poor bloke has been out there all day.”

“Bodyguard? You’re really that famous?”

“Not to you. To you, I’m just Arch and that’s just the way I like it.”

Ionee

“Whatdidyouorder?”he asked as he walked back in through the front door like he belonged here.
