“This place looks stunning, Lea.” One of the crew smiled at me on the way to the bar and I mouthed a thank you. I had to admit, the place looked pretty magical, given that I had forty-eight hours to organize it.

Nee and I had danced for hours, feeling like the old days, but sweaty and exhausted she’d gone to the bar, and the bitch from one of the support bands, who had a crush on Archer, had a go at her. Like he could sense her pain, Archer appeared, whispering something to her that made her cheeks turn red. They announced they were off to dance before he took her back to the hotel. Me, on the other hand, I had other ideas.

“Please, Fox. One of the caterers told me about it. It sounds amazing. It’s in the French Quarter, which is full of magic and vampires. There’s a witch there and she can tell your fortune and cast spells.” I twirled my hair around my finger and made puppy dog eyes at him.

Fox laughed. “Fine, but you have to invite the two alphas. They will kick my ass if we sneak off, and I can’t leave without security anyway.”

“I have the perfect way to get them to come. Give me two minutes.”

Leaving him standing there, I ran off the bathroom, slipped off my panties and sent them a picture that proved I was drunker than I thought, with the wordoppsbelow it, before I headed back out to Fox.

Seconds later, Marshall and Dawson appeared next to me. “Sugar,” Marshall growled.

I huffed. “Fine. I’ll put them back on if you come with us to this club to meet a witch.”

Marshall rolled his eyes and Dawson held out his arm. “After you, Sunshine.”

I squealed in delight. “You guys are the best.”

Fox

“Wow,thisplaceissomething else.”

Underground, in what looked like a giant crypt, this was the spookiest place I’d ever been. The lights were low, the place was packed and a sense of foreboding hung in the air, despite how happy everyone looked to be here.

“Where have you brought us, Lea?” Dawson asked, looking uncomfortable.

“Isn’t it amazing?” she yelled over the music, spinning around in the space we’d created for her between us.

“Do not take your fucking panties off in here, Sugar. You’d probably get impregnated by a ghost.”

She laughed, but Marshall did not. Sensing everyone’s mood, she looked between us. “Shit, sorry. Do you want to go?”

I cupped her cheek. “We’re here. Let’s have some fun.”

Turning from her, I signaled to the barman. “What would you recommend for two people who aren’t drinking, one tipsy woman and a man who doesn’t want a hangover in the morning?”

“Mushroom tea?”

I paused. I’d drank mushroom coffee before. It tasted like soil, but it gave me an energy boost, so maybe that was the perfect idea. “Great, we’ll have four large ones.”

The barman paused. “Large ones. Are you sure? You’ve had it before, right?”

“Course.”

He nodded, bringing over the huge mugs, and I handed him the money. Passing them out, we all took a sip and yeap, it tasted as bad as I remembered. “Fuck, it’s only luke warm. Let’s down it and get something that tastes better next time.”

“Cheers. Here’s to a night to remember,” Lea giggled before we drank the rancid tea.

Chapter 13

Marshall

Iopenedoneeyeslowly, my head spinning, stomach churning and my right forearm burning. What the hell?

Naked in bed, my arm over Fox’s chest as Lea and Dawson spooned me from behind. I should have freaked out, but I felt too sick to move.

Looking down, I noticed the ink on my arm that was now red and inflamed.
