Gratefully, I let him press his hand to my back and guide me up the stairs and as soon as were in the room I’d commandeered earlier and the door was closed I burst into tears, not really understanding why I was crying. Fox wrapped his arms around me and let me sob into his shoulder until my tears ran dry.

Eventually, I pulled away, wiping my cheeks with my fingers.

“Feel better?”

I shook my head.

“They’ll come around.”

And then it all made sense. I felt rejected. These men had been apparently bound to me and two of them didn’t want to be here. As if he could read my mind, Fox spoke. “I don’t think either of them are the relationship kind and they are both keeping a treasure trove full of secrets. They like control and they can’t control this, so they’re freaking out. Don’t push. Just be you and they won’t be able to resist. I promise, Le.”

“Why are you so good to me?” I whispered.

He ran his fingers along my jaw. “Because I love you.”

“I love you too. You know that, right?”

His lips brushed mine in the softest kiss. “I know that,” he murmured, his warm breath dancing over my lips. “Now, go shower, and let’s go to bed.”

When I got out of the shower, Fox was in bed, hair down, focused on his phone. As soon as he heard me, he looked up, his turquoise eyes flaring. Pulling back the sheets, he patted the space beside him. Dropping my towel, I crawled in, snuggling into his side.

He placed his phone on the bedside table. “Charlie, moaning that Nee and Arch aren’t giving him enough attention,” he explained.

I laughed. “Is Charlie okay? He’s seemed less… Charlie-like recently. It’s like someone found a button to mute his crazy.”

Fox's eyebrows pinched together. “You’re right, he has been weirdly calm lately. Fuck.” He reached for his phone again and connected a call. “Sorry to disturb you, Arch, but is Charlie using again?”

I slammed my hand over my mouth to stop my shocked cry falling from my lips.

“… You’re sure… he told you that? Okay. If you’re happy, I’m happy, but keep an eye on him.” There was a long pause while he was obviously listening. “Really? Well, I’ll be fucked. I’ll see you soon. Love ya, man. And tell Nee and C I said hi.”

And with that, he hung up.

“Everything okay?” I asked.

“Charlie used to do… well, anything he could to feel good. I won’t give you all the gory details, but he made some really bad decisions. We lost our recording contract not so long ago.”

“What?” I exclaimed.

“He fixed it and he’s been a lot better since then, but the idea of him acting weird freaks me out. Apparently,he’s found something like Archer’s ropesand I don’t need to worry.”

I let his words settle before my eyes widened. “He’s found his kink?”

“Looks like it. My only worry is who he found it with.” I waited for him to continue. “He told us that he’d slept with Fern.”

“Yeap, she told me the same. They’ve been playing, apparently.”

“Oh really? Tell me more.”

“Orgasm denial. His orgasm denial, although she didn’t give me any more details than that.”

Fox smiled, and then it slipped from his beautiful face. “Charlie isn’t good at commitment. This might not end well.”

“And she might be the love of his life and the person he’s been searching for. Don’t write him off because of his past.”

Fox moved quickly, pulling us, so I was flat on my back and he was between my thighs, his hard cock edging my folds. “Why are we talking when this is the first time I’ve had you to myself since… fuck, in forever?”

“Open the bedroom door,” I panted.
