Guiding him to where Fox sat, I pointed to the last free seat, pulling up a chair to sit as well. “So, Bunny, tell us about your day trip today. Did you really take poor Marshall here to an old hall with a painted roof? Is that really what you chose to show him in our great city?”

“Oh my God, did you guys go to the Painted Hall? I’ve lived here my whole life and I’ve never been. Is it as beautiful as it looks in the pictures?” Fern asked excitedly.

“You don’t get history like that in America,” Marshall replied, and that was all it took for him to open up and start talking. Within minutes, it felt like he’d been friends with these people for years.

Not long after, Lea appeared, looking exhausted. “I think we’re closer to being done than I thought, so I’m sending everyone home. We have to be at the venue at lunchtime tomorrow, so they all need their rest.”

“As do you,” I reminded her, my brows raised.

“I guess.” She climbed into Marshall’s lap, pressing a kiss to his lips. “Do you mind me sitting here?”

He laughed, wrapping his arms around her. “No, Sugar. Never.”

I loved how open we could be about our relationship. We hadn’t explained the logistics, but people knew we were together and even the press lost interest in us pretty quickly after stories about us leaked.

“Did you have a good day with Fox?” she murmured, snuggling into his chest, but before he could reply, she was asleep.

“I love how happy she is with you all,” Nee whispered as she stood, holding her hand out to Archer. “Come on, time to go.”

“See you tomorrow for dinner. Your house and we’re bringing partners?” Archer asked as he stood.

“Yeah, about that?” Charlie said. “I’m bringing a plus one too.” He turned to Fern, wrapping his hand in hers making her blush.

“If that’s okay,” she whispered.

Fox grinned. “You are more than welcome… although, could you leave C at home? He’s so annoying.”

“Cheeky fucker,” Charlie spluttered back.

“But will you tell us what you’re doing to make him so calm and un-Charlie like? We might need to try it on him, too.”

Fern’s eyes darkened. “Sorry, that’s my secret weapon. You have to find your own.”

Chapter 21

Lea

ThelastthingIremembered was crawling into Marshall’s lap, my stomach full of food and my stress levels abating, probably due to exhaustion. They must have carried me from my office, brought me home, undressed me and put me to bed in one of Marshall’s huge shirts I loved so much. But now it was 3 am and I was wide awake, nerves about this event swirling like a tornado in my stomach.

I slipped out of the bed, taking a moment to appreciate the three beautiful men I was leaving behind, loving how they were all touching each other. Closing the door quietly behind me, I padded down the stairs to the kitchen, flicking on the kettle as I stared out into the dark night.

The last few months had been crazy, and I started to daydream about what came next; time off, a holiday, long weekends in bed. Could we have anythingnormalgiven who Fox was and what we were as a four?

I didn’t know how long I’d been standing there when hands wrapped around my waist. “You good, Sugar?”

“I’m fine.” I turned in his arms, looking up into his dark blue eyes, getting that feeling that I always felt around him; familiarity—as if our souls had met in another lifetime.

“Don’t lie to me, Sugar.”

Dressed in just his boxers, Marshall glowed in the moonlight that outlined every one of his muscles, making my fingers crave to touch him. “Fine,” I admitted as I moved from his hold to make my tea. “My head is spinning. This event is a lot and I don’t think I’ll sleep again until it’s done. I wish my brain had a switch that I could turn off.”

“Follow me,” he instructed, leaving the kitchen without another word.

My heart hammered as he walked to the living room. He sat on the sofa, pointing to the center of the room, where he obviously expected me to stand. He leaned back, rubbing his thumb over his bottom lips before he stretched his arms across the cushions, looking like a king on his throne.

“Take off your shirt, Sugar.”

“Why?”
