“What the hell crawled up your ass while we were out?”

“Apparently you, you fucking creep,” he yelled.

“W-what?”

Oh, fuck.

I didn’t want to be a part of this conversation, but I also didn’t think it was safe to leave them alone as I watched Fox's fist curl at his side.

“Answer me something. Have we fucked?”

“Erm, we’ve been fucking for months. Have you had a stroke or something?” Dawson replied, his face expressionless as if he had no clue what Fox was talking about.

Jesus, this man could win an Oscar for his acting ability.

Fox dropped his head, his hair falling down around his face and then, as if he was doing it to spite Dawson, he pulled a hair tie from his wrist and secured it into a bun. He then lifted his face. “You get one chance to tell me the truth. Before Lea, before you worked for the band, had we ever fucked?”

Dawson’s face stayed stoic, but his eyes, God, his eyes filled with something that looked like pain, regret, fear… there was so much emotion hiding there and I wondered if Fox was paying enough attention to notice it too.

“Fucking answer me, Dawson.” He spat his name out, like saying it was poisoning him.

“Yes,” he mumbled almost inaudibly.

“What? Say it again. I want to hear it, you fucking lying cunt.”

“Yes. We hooked up.”

Fox spun around, running his hand over his face, his shoulders moving up and down as he sucked in long, deep breaths. “Get the fuck out of my house.”

“Our house,” Dawson mumbled.

He turned back to face him, storming forward and grabbing Dawson by the shirt. Lurching toward them, I dragged Fox back. “None of us can go anywhere. The curse, remember? Hear him out,” I begged. “It isn’t what you think.”

Fox trembled in my hold, anger vibrating through him. “What I think… what I think is that this fucking lying piece of shit fucked me and asked for my number and when I said no, he stalked me. When we got signed to the label, he saw the perfect opportunity to infiltrate my life. Somehow, you managed to persuade Addi to give you the job. You fucking stalked me and all these months, what have you been laughing about how I didn’t remember and you got what you wanted all along? Fox Garrison on his knees for you.”

Fox took a couple of steps back and I relaxed my hold on him.

Dawson let out a hollow laugh. “Yeah, that’s exactly how it was. I was so desperate for you, I waited until you got famous, ‘cause I magically knew that was going to happen, and turned my entire life upside down just to be with you. How fucking conceited are you?”

“Well, tell me what happened then?” he yelled.

“What’s the point? You’ve made up your mind. I don’t have anything else to say.”

“No, because you know I’m spot on.” He paused and then turned to me. “Wait, what did you mean—it isn’t what I think… didyouknow about this?”

I nodded.

“I can’t trust any of you. For months, you’ve both been lying to me. I’m done. I’m so fucking done. I want you both out of here.”

I held my arm out and grabbed his wrist, pulling his tattooed arm alongside mine, but he tore out of my hold.

“Fuck this shit. I’m calling Matt’s friend. I’m getting him to prove this curse is bullshit and then you’re gone. I can’t be around either of you, knowing you lied to me. Fuck, I let you into my life… my bed.” He turned to Dawson. “My heart.” Grabbing his beer, he stormed to the doorway. “I’ll be in the basement. I suggest you stay well fucking clear of me. I don’t want to see or speak to either of you again. Not ever.”
