Logan nodded, and they both watched Emma laughing like the blushing bride she was.

Aidan wondered if he was crazy.

Was it just that she’d rejected him?

He didn’t really know her.

How could he be so fucking sure in only a few days? Yes, he knew her body. Yes, she made him hard, made him smile, made him do things he wouldn’t normally do.

But Lily had also packed up and left, leaving him hanging after he’d told her he wanted her.

If this was his ego, Aidan needed to check it before he went flying across the continental US and demanded she be his.

Then he remembered Matt and his heckles raised on his neck once more. His teeth clenched.

“So, you didn’t get hold of her?” Logan asked, sipping his champagne.

“Who?” his father asked, joining them.

“Lily. I didn’t get to say goodbye.”Thanks to you.

Asshole.

If his father hadn’t caused the trouble he had, Aidan would have been in her room. He would have been there for her and been able to say goodbye.

Then he’d have clarity.

“Yes. Very sad,” Andrew said flippantly. “I’m sure the girl is happy to be by her father’s side. That was very generous of Daniel to send her home in his jet.”

Aidan lowered his brows and shook his head. “Jesus, Dad.”

“What?” Andrew asked. “You know the cost of flying those things.”

“Her father is, was—” Fuck, he didn’t know. “—Dying. The flight wouldn’t have made a dent in Daniel’s bank account,” Aidan growled.

“Don’t be obtuse. You know what I meant,” Andrew said.

“Fuck’s sake, Dad. Drop it,” Logan said.

“I’ve already transferred the money into his account,” Aidan said, and he had.

“Clearly you’ve fucked the girl,” Andrew said.

Exactly how bad would it be to punch my father at my brother’s wedding? On a scale of one to ten?

“Hey.” Logan poked Andrew in the shoulder with his finger. “Lily is my wife’s best friend, so watch what you say.”

“Fine. She’s a nice girl. I will give her that. But I don’t want to see my other son end up with her because she’s good with her mouth.”

Ding.

He didn’t care anymore.

Aidan moved like lightning, but Logan was faster.

He’d barely grabbed his father’s shirt before his brother shoved him off and stood between them.

“Dad, get the fuck out of here right now. Or I won’t stop him a second time,” Logan growled, glaring down into Aidan’s face.
