“Yes,” Blake said. “Mom doesn’t like to gossip, so we got the information out of the big guy here.”

Aidan lifted a shoulder.

It was true, he’d updated them on the family gossip. They deserved to know.

“Dude, your mother is a huge gossip. She’s just super subtle about it.” Aidan laughed.

“Maybe she didn’t want to gossip about a dying woman, dude.” Jacob frowned at him, and he held up a hand in defense.

Harper leaned into Lily. “Sorry for the family politics. There is a lot in this one.”

“Behave, wife,” Daniel said and cupped the back of her neck, forcing her to turn. Daniel dropped his mouth to hers.

Beside him, Lily shivered and lifted her eyes to Aiden’s.

I’ll scratch that itch for you soon, peaches.

They all headed back over to the bar, and Aidan had begun to follow when, beside him, Lily cleared her throat. He glanced down.

“Thanks. For—” Lily pointed at her foot. As she made to walk away, Aidan angled his body, stopping her progress.

Big eyes lifted to his.

“It was the least I could do, given I caused it,” Aidan said as she pressed her lips together, looking nervous. Aidan tilted his head. “You’re scared of me.”

She shook her head.

Liar.

“You’re scared of the way I make your body feel. The way Imadeyou feel that night.” When she began to speak, Aidan took a step closer and lowered his voice. “I meant what I said back in Philly. I intend to have all of you. When I come for you, you’ll know.”

Then he took a step back and let her return to the bar.
