Harper waved at him. “You’re half naked. So, what’s happening?”

“The jet will be here in an hour,” Daniel said. “I’ll organize a car. They will need to do a few things before they take off, but you should be home by early evening in Chicago.”

Eight or nine hours.

Lily nodded. “Thank you. I’ll—”

She was going to offer to pay for...um something. But let’s face it, there’s no way she could even afford the food aboard a Dufort private jet.

“Nothing,” Emma interrupted. “Just get home and focus on your dad. Draw him a picture.”

“Sketch,” she muttered.

“Yup, that.” Emma smiled.

Lily wondered where Logan was. He was likely asleep, and Emma hadn’t wanted to interrupt him. Aidan hadn’t come out, and while nothing mattered except getting home, she thought he’d have heard her cry and ventured out.

Lily lowered her face into her hands. What if she couldn’t get there fast enough? She didn’t regret coming to Hawaii. It could have happened at any time, but damn Murphy’s Law.

For a brief moment, she wished Aidan was holding her, and wondered if she should wake him.

At least to say goodbye.

She realized then just how safe and wanted he made her feel. That damn protective and over-possessive way he had about him would feel really nice right now.

She glanced at her phone, which was tucked tightly in her hands in case her mom phoned, and considered going down to his room. But then realized that was a bad idea.

While she was overwhelmed with fear and panic about her dad, a slither of sadness slipped in. It was over between them.

What she and Aidan had shared—it was over.

She’d never feel his mouth, his body, or those dominant green eyes on hers again.

This was how it was meant to end.

Her Hawaiian romance was over.
