Nothing more.

I’ll lose my trust fund and, more importantly, break my father’s heart. Still, it wasn’t him who’d demanded my virginity. My father is a good man.

The man I am betrothed to is not.

Still, my virginity is one thing. I’ve had plenty of experience with kissing men and playing around sexually. To put it bluntly, I’m no stranger to orgasms, by my own hand and others.

I also own a vibrator, although I’m a little scared to insert it since, well, Todd says he has ways to find out if I’ve fucked someone. Asshole. Can you imagine the shame if I had to hold up my pink toy and saymeet the accused?

Anyway, I have six more months until we wed. That’s my deadline for the trust fund.

My parents think Todd and I are in love and simply have a long engagement because we’ve known each other most of our lives.

Our money is old money, so all these archaic beliefs run through the society we belong to. I did have a little crush on him when we were younger. I looked up to him because he was older.

I’m not sure I would call us childhood sweethearts, though.

Even so, one day, when I was fifteen, Todd kissed me in front of our families and then suddenly our wedding was being discussed.

The one time I tried to speak to my mother about it, she told me not to be silly and that we were obviously in love. That my nerves were natural and... more importantly, I shouldn’t say anything to my father as he would be disappointed in me.

Especially after our public demonstration.

There was no “our”about it. Todd kissed me.

However I was young, and then over the years I thought he would meet someone else or that everyone would move on.

My mistake.

It seems that Todd believes heownsme, which has been going on for a long time.

He’d been jealous when Bobby, a new kid who started at our school, had walked me to class. Bobby ended up getting expelled a week later. When Shaun from the football team asked me out, he ended up leaving me sitting in the local café for over an hour when he didn’t show up.

Guess who did?

Todd.

He said Shaun was seen in the locker room with Meghan Fletcher, his hand under her shirt.

I was utterly heartbroken.

Then, on my eighteenth birthday, I was told at my party that our engagement would be announced. I was so shocked that I dragged Todd down the hall and into one of the bedrooms of his parent’s multimillion-dollar NYC penthouse and told him I couldn’t go through with it.

The crush I’d been harboring, I’d realized, was nothing more than a young girl looking up to an older boy. I didn’t find him attractive and there was no chemistry.

He hadn’t taken it well.

In fact, he’d been furious.

We fought, and Todd told me it wasn’t something I had a choice in. I ended up laughing since that sounded insane. When he pushed me up against the wall and gripped my throat, my laughter had vanished.

“My little Belle, you really don’t understand, do you?” he’d sneered. “Our trust funds get released when we marry, and our parents want this.”

I’d begun to choke, but he simply tightened his hold.

“Listen, you might only be getting a measly fifteen million, but I have eighty mill on the line here. I’m not letting you fuck this up for me.”

I had tried to push at him, but he’d just pressed his body into mine and, thankfully, moved his hand up to my chin so I could breathe. But I could feel his erection against me, and I didn’t like it.
