Why would I when I get to watch her gorgeous ass?

I’m sure my dick just broke the world record for the fastest and hardest erection.

I realize I vaguely know who she is—because of my role as a Dark King—she’s Mia’snormalfriend. By that, I mean she’s not a gangster chick. Meaning she’s fair play later when the party starts.

And here I thought today was going to be boring.

That is if Carlos stays away, and shit doesn’t go down.

Nathan shoots me adon’t go therelook, but seconds later he shares a heated look with the other bridesmaid. Sienna.

Looks like bridesmaids are on the menu tonight.

Excellent.

Then I notice she appears like someone has just shot her cat. One more glance at Nathan, and he uncharacteristically shows a hint of emotion.

“Dude, what did you do?”

“I didn’t stay away.” He replies dryly. “Don’t be me. Mia is from this world. Sienna and Isabelle are not.”

Which is exactly why I’m interested. That and the naughty smile she gave me sent fire to my groin.

I follow her steps, and when she turns to face the crowd, her wild little eyes slide to mine again, and I know I’m not staying away.

Hell no.

That she’s not from this world is precisely the reason I’ll be dragging her tight ass out back and seeing if she’s as sassy as those eyes pretend to be.

When the crowd gasps, everyone turns to look at the bride. Mia Mancini.

The mafia princess.

I drift my eyes around the property, fighting the chill on the back of my neck, knowing Carlos, the man who slaughtered Connor’s family, is here somewhere.

I’m not really into weddings, but even I can’t ignore how beautiful the bride looks. Mia is in a vast, strapless, white, almost sparkling gown with a long veil. She has glossy lips and a huge diamond necklace that lays against her tanned Italian olive skin.

Joe Mancini looks like the powerful mafia boss he is as Mia takes his arm and the wedding march begins.

Nathan tenses beside me.

One glance at Connor and he’s starry-eyed at his bride as he should be, but something in the air, a heaviness, has descended. My instinct is screaming at me to move.

“Something's not right,” I growl.

“I know,” Nathan replies.

I glance at Isabelle, not liking how exposed she is. I don’t even know her, but who else is looking out for her if this all turns to shit?

As Mia approaches her groom, both Nathan and I stand up a little taller. I watch as he glances between Sienna and the house.

What are they looking at?

I get my answer when Mia is about two steps from Connor, because a second later, chaos erupts.

It’s like a slow-motion movie in my mind.

Nathan’s mouth opens to cry out as the firstpopsounds.
