“I bet you would, baby.”

That wasit. I spun around, grabbing his wrist and dragging him through the kitchen, ignoring my teammates and friends. When I reached the utility room, I yanked the door open, shoved him inside, and slammed the door closed behind us. Without stopping to take a breath, I crowded him up against the wall and slanted my mouth over his.

He opened up for me straight away, his tongue sliding over mine, his lips soft and hot and so fucking perfect. I would never, ever get enough of kissing this man.

“Jordan. Fuck.” Theo’s mouth went to my jaw, his hands pulling me into him, our dicks grinding together in a way that made me want to get rid of the layers of clothes between us right fucking now. I moaned.

“Theo. Please—”

There was a crash. “No! My eyes! Again!”

I let my head fall forwards to Theo’s shoulder. “Hi, Reuben.”

“Why is it always me?” he cried. “All I was trying to do was find the tequila. Ainsley said it was in here.”

Loud laughter came from outside the door, just as I said, “What tequila?”

Reuben spun around, outrage all over his face. “Ainsley Shaw, you are a dead man!” He took off like a shot, and I heard the sound of shouts and pounding footsteps coming from the kitchen.

“I suppose we’d better rejoin the others.” Theo cleared his throat, adjusting himself in his jeans. His eyes met mine, and they were so dark and hot I had to take a pointed step away from him so I didn’t do something inadvisable like lock us both in here and fuck his brains out. “But we’re continuing where we left off later.”

“Yes, we fucking are.” I planted a quick, hard kiss on his lips before I stepped back, focusing on breathing in and out deeply until I was mostly under control. “C’mon. Let’s go and eat the food our friends prepared for us. We’ll have our own private housewarming party later, and no one else is invited.”

“Agreed.” He slid his fingers between mine, and hand in hand, we went to rejoin our friends.

Out in the garden, sprawled on the grass under the final rays of the summer sun, I looked around me and smiled, so fucking happy that I felt like I could burst. My teammates were mingling with my dad and his friends. Grant was busy with the barbecue, deep in conversation with Rory, Amir, and Lars, while Amir’s wife was helping Grant’s wife and a couple of the other parents supervise some of the kids that were kicking a football around at the bottom of the garden.

As for me? To my left, on a blanket on the grass, I had a full plate of food and an ice-cold beer. And to my right? I glanced down at the fingers entwined with mine. I had the most important thing of all.

My best friend and the man I loved more than anything in the world.

Theo.

EPILOGUE

THEO

TEN MONTHS LATER

“Ikeep expecting Dr. Weaver to pop out of the bushes.” Jordan glanced suspiciously around us. He caught my eye, grinned, and then sighed. “That feels so long ago now, doesn’t it?”

“Yeah. Well, it was just over two years ago.” Over two years since we’d been forced together on that island. Over two years since Jordan Emery had become my confidant, my lover, and my best friend. Now, here we were, at another tropical retreat, but this time, we were in Thailand in a private celebrity hideout, and our luxury resort was exactly that—a resort. It was beautiful beyond words, but I knew that both of us would always hold a soft spot for Black Diamond Resort because it was the place where we’d begun to heal, to find ourselves and each other.

“Two years of you and me.” Stretching out on the lounger next to our own private plunge pool overlooking the sea, Jordan yawned. “And this past year has been the best year of my life. I got to call you mine in front of the world, you moved in with me,andwe managed to get to the quarter-finals of the Europa League. I still can’t believe we did it. That was insane.”

I took a sip of my ice-cold beer, trying and failing to ignore how utterly delicious my boyfriend looked, lying there in a tiny pair of electric-blue swimming shorts, his skin smooth and kissed with gold from his hours of sun worshipping. “We’ll make it further next season. I’m sure of it.”

“Yeah. We will. And who knows. Maybe we’ll get called up for the England team one day, too.” His phone beeped, and he rolled onto his side, reaching under the lounger to view the alert. “Hey, look at the group chat.”

I picked up my phone, mostly to give my eyes something to focus on that wasn’t Jordan’s body. We were supposed to be relaxing, and we couldn’t do that if we were all over each other like we had been in the four days we’d been here so far.

When I opened the group chat, I smiled to myself.

Ainsley:

@Jordan did you know that apparently you’re a BISEXUAL ICON according to this online article I just read?
