"Maybe I wanted to be greedy for a minute." I grabbed her and kissed her again.

Our lips danced against each other. The rush she gave me was better than any tackle I had ever had. And that includes a tackle that won us the state championship. She owned me in that kiss.

As our hands roamed one another's bodies, I needed more. I wanted all of her. She wrapped her legs around me and she ground up and down on me in the water.

"If you don't stop, I will take you right here." I dug my fingers into her hips to stop her.

"So, do it." She licked her lips.

"I have to wait for the others."

"Was this all planned?" She dropped her legs.

"Was what?" I looked around as if she meant something besides hiding under a deck and having a make-out session.

"You three. I mean, you guys don't even seem to mind that there is one of me and three of you. Honestly, I'm getting the better deal here." She averted her eyes. "Not that I'm saying there is a thing here. It's just well we have hooked up and now you say it has to be all three for ya know."

"Nothing was planned. But we all want you." I opened my mouth to say more, then shut it again. "Let's go back to the house."

"We were in the middle of a conversation." Mal crossed her arms.

"And that conversation will be finished later." I swam out from under the deck.

She followed after me and climbed up the ladder on the side of the deck. The water clung to her shorts and shirt, making them even tighter, showing off every curve of her body. Damn, she was gorgeous.

CHAPTER17

Mal

I dippedmy head under the bath water in an attempt to drown out my thoughts. I didn't want to talk to anyone, nor was I in the mood to hear anyone talking. Rex was a comfort, but only a brief distraction as I tried to work out my father and brother's betrayal.

When I walked into the house, Frankie tried to talk to me. Instead of hearing him out, I went to my room and locked the door. Yeah, I was being childish, and I didn't care. Sammy, Jake, Matty, and even Rachel tried talking to me. I shouted through the door that I needed a minute. Really, I needed a lifetime to collect my thoughts.

How could my father move on? How could my brother not tell me? Today of all days, my father decided to spend it with some woman instead of with his children. How could he? Anger boiled in my veins. I pushed my face out of the water, gasping for air.

There was a faint knock on the door. Why couldn't they leave me alone? I sunk back under the water.

Arms reached around me, pulling me out of the water. Jake pushed my hair from my eyes.

I gasped.

"What are you doing?" He pulled me into him.

"Taking a bath." I wanted to be pissed at him, but his arms were so comforting. "You know, the door was locked."

"I'm sorry. It's not locked now. I just want to talk to you,” he sighed.

"I said I needed a minute. I appreciate the concern, but please give me time." Pushing away from him, I sank back under the water. I knew I was being childish, and I was desperately trying not to be.

"Mal, please." He pulled me back to him.

"Jake!" I pushed away from him again.

"Talk to Frankie, please. Is this really how you want to end today?"

My face burned, and I bit my lip to stifle the tears that threatened to fall. I was aware of Jake's gaze and I desperately wanted him to think I was mature beyond my years. Someone who would be the bigger person in any situation. So, instead of giving in to the desire to cry or scream, I just sat up straighter and tried not to show any emotion.

"You're right. I'll go talk to him." I pointed to the sink. "Can you grab my towel?"
