“Before we leave…” Frankie turned to me and stared at the ground. “I just want you to know I’m sorry for everything.”

“Please, not now.” I fought back the tears. “I’m trying really hard not to hate you and if you… Just don’t.”

“Okay, let’s go.” Frankie led me outside.

I had no expectations. So when I saw the white stretch limo outside, I almost vomited. It was beautiful. Never in my life had I been inside a limo. Frankie outdid himself.

After quickly glancing at Jake’s house and seeing no one was home, I slowly walked to the limo. Yeah, the shoes were not going to last. The driver was waiting by the door and he opened it for me and then held my hand while I scooted inside.

My mouth dropped. It wasn’t the lights that ran along the edge, or the bottles of champagne on ice. It wasn’t even the slow music playing. No, it was none of those super fancy things. It was the three men on the opposite side of the limo.

“Ahh!” I screamed as I tried to leap toward them. It was too confined of a space and I fell forward. Luckily, I wasn’t too high up and I didn’t hurt anything.

“You are so clumsy,” Frankie snapped from behind me.

I paid zero attention to him. He was lucky I even heard what he said. My eyes were focused on my men. All three of my men were there. They all had black tuxes with emerald green ties.

Jake scooted over and helped me off the floor. Rex and Matty were quickly behind him and sat next to me.

“How?” I whispered.

“Frankie helped.” Matty grabbed my hand and kissed my knuckles.

“Why?” My head spun.

“Because he knows how we feel about you.” Rex kissed my cheek.

Jake opened a plastic box with small pink rose buds inside it. It was a corsage. “Will you go to prom with us?” He slid the corsage onto my wrist.

“I’m so confused.” I took slow, steady breaths.

“We didn’t get to take you to prom, so Frankie helped us set up a prom for you. Well, for us.” Jake kissed both of my hands.

Tears swelled in my eyes. None of it was real. There was no way it could be. Frankie was very clear about me not dating his friends. I looked around the limo. He was sitting there smiling and holding Rachel’s hand. Sammy sat closer to us and kept her gaze away from Frankie.

“If you mess up your makeup before we even get there, I will kill you.” Sammy leaned forward and handed me a tissue.

“It’s just. It’s well.” I dabbed at my eyes.

“Accept that this is real.” Frankie handed me a glass of champagne. “I’m not too happy about it, but obviously you four are happy and how can I deny my sister and best friend's happiness?”

I took the glass and drank it in one gulp. “Thank you.”

After what was only a short ride, the limo stopped. The driver got out and opened the door for us. I scooted out of the limo with the help of Jake and Sammy. We arrived at the warehouse that Frankie sometimes used for his parties. I crossed my fingers that my vomit was no longer visible on the sidewalk. Luckily it had been months and all traces of it were gone.

Inside I was once again surprised. Round tables with blue and gold linens lined the dance floor. A DJ stood in the corner with all of his equipment. It was all decked out and gave prom vibes. There was even a sign above the stage that said The Make-up Prom.

“Get it. Like we are making up for the lost prom.” Matty pointed to the sign.

“It's beautiful.” I dabbed at my eyes again. “Seriously this is all too much.”

“You deserve the world.” Rex winked at me.

Flashes went off in my face. I blinked until I realized a woman with a camera was directly in front of us. Jake pulled us over to a wooden archway where she continued to take photos of us.

Before I knew it I was being whisked onto the dance floor. My three men took turns twirling me around and pulling me in close for certain dances. It didn’t take long before I had to sit down and remove my shoes.

It was the most magical night of my life. Sammy must have invited Trevor Montgomery from lit class because she was on the dance floor with him. Frankie and Rachel slow danced to every song no matter the beat.
