Chapter Forty-Seven

Sasha

Ikept my calm next to Katya in the room with six large men in black. A few resembled Tomas, but the three others were dressed in comfortable clothing and didn’t look as weathered. They were normal looking men who could pass a person on the street and not be considered the villains of someone’s life.

Katya and I both had to maintain a submission that secured us freedom from restraint. Considering their hardened criminal expressions and weathered appearance, we had no problem behaving. I felt thankful not to have seen Nikki but had no intention of speaking and making accusation against her since remaining silent seemed wiser than to risk offending our captors. Given the main man who presided over us was the hardened mercenary Tomas, I felt more worried.

He spoke in another language I didn’t recognize, and I knew the last encounter included his preference to kill me if I didn’t have Armon’s protection. That gave me more anxiety. We weren’t here by Armon’s consent; this was coordinated by his scheming wife. And I had to wonder who all she conspired with.

When Tomas answered the phone, I heard Armon’s voice.

The hardest part was the moment Armon asked about Nikki. For a second, I felt the need to panic, but that was a brief doubt. He was a cleverly deceptive man when the act suited him, and anything he did would be thought out. I just needed to trust him and go along with it to ensure Katya and I made his arrival—as well as our escape—easy.

We acted more distant than ever, but her shudder at Tomas’ loud voice had me worried she might break down and need my help keeping calm. When he mentioned a whore-show and shock collar was when her tremble became visible.

Once Tomas hung up, his sinister grin filled me with more dread than his conversation with Armon had. He gripped my jaw as he spoke in his harsh accent, “You finish whore-show with Armon, then I keep you.” The three light slaps to my cheek following his enraging words had me wishing we were alone, and I had Katya’s skills. I had no talent like hers, and I was no threat to anyone.

He huffed and gripped my chin. “You worthless whore to Armon. He want sister and wife, so I give them to Bobby. Armon fuck you and kill Bobby, he get wife and sister back.”

I knew there was plenty Tomas didn’t say. I also didn’t trust what he already said. As I considered our options, Tomas grabbed me by my upper arm and pulled me up. “We go to Bobby.”

Bobby. A sense of dread washed over me. The man in charge of our kidnapping was about to have complete access to me and Katya. I had a feeling they would abuse her first, since she was Armon’s sister.

Her glassy-eyed stare into an intangible abyss worried me. Would she break along the way? Maybe she’d grown callous to the situation. If not, any foolish act would go horribly wrong and would probably bring her a torment worse than what my family had subjected her to.

I walked alongside Tomas, whose grip on my arm gave me no choice but to keep up with him. Katya and the five thugs were behind us. After two halls and a set of stairs, we approached wide double doors. My deep breath to calm my nerves was interrupted by Tomas jerking me forward as he easily pushed the thick wood to reveal an exquisite dining room. The long banquet table required more than one chandelier above it. And at this end, at least ten plates of food were laid out.

To the other end, Nikki sat in a chair as though she was a queen. At that side of the dining hall, ten men in all black stood with attention set on our entry. Their minacious stance suggested they were prepared for anyone who may come. Armon would bring several competent men to easily overpower them, though. This was nothing he couldn’t handle.

As we drew closer, I got a good look at Nikki. She seemed so proud of herself until an obese man in his fifties ordered her to stand. He immediately plopped into the high-backed chair and ordered her onto his lap. The sight made me want to shiver, especially when his pudgy hand stroked the length of her thigh. She looked more like a middle-class stripper than the luxurious wife she’d been to Armon.

There was no way I would let that man’s slimy fingers touch me, and I wondered if Nikki regretted her choice to betray Armon. I would assume this was against her will, but she had a history of scheming in the most despicable way. Maybe she didn’t mind at all. So long as a man provided something she wanted, she might fuck his goat.

Tomas spoke with gruff delight as he leaned down to my level. “Armon run out of time. I fuck you for whore-show.”

I didn’t know how much longer I had before Tomas planned to fulfill that promise. Armon would come, though. For Katya and for me, and he would kill anyone who laid a hand on me and his unborn child.

Chapter Forty-Eight

Armon

Despite Cade's urgency, I took my time considering our options. We didn't have a crew aside from two men who were nowhere close to what my best had been. We didn't know the layout of the home. This was a job we couldn't prepare for. But we sure as fuck couldn't fail.

Cade and my other two impatiently waited for my order, and they would have to continue that wait.

I clicked a pen next to my head as I thought. "We arrive late. They won't expect that."

"That's ridiculous!" Cade spat. He glared at my relaxed stance and my feet on the desk.

My brow rose, but I chose not to snap at my flustered friend. "Think, don't react. We can assume Nikki will be paying close attention to everything happening. She managed to pull this off, so she will be ready to side with whoever is going to come out on top." And that would be us so long as she thought I didn’t know about her scheming. To them, she would be the loving wife I feared losing. Just the thought of making her pay for what she'd done brought a bit of excitement to this plan.

"And how do we go waltzing into a hornet's nest and come out on top?" Cade asked.

I clicked the pen again just to instill a bit more calm into the room. "Leverage."

Everyone looked at me with doubt. Normally, I would consider a situation like this as a guaranteed failure. Right now, I couldn't let doubt and fear creep in.

Bobby and Tomas believed Nikki was my weakness to exploit. The shift in the war also made things easier. We had something to negotiate. But we needed our enemies thrown off their own game.
