“Sounds like a boring weekend, Dad.”

I change the subject. I still can’t understand why Kendall is so mad at me. She didn’t want me to call her my girlfriend. She may be a commitment-phobe, in which case our romance won’t last.

A sad feeling settles in my chest, and I put my plate aside.

I called her phone a few times after she left, but she didn’t pick it up or answer my texts. I assumed the best thing would be to give her space. But space comes at a cost.

After the time I spent with her, I don’t want to go back to meaningless hook-ups and loneliness. I wantherin my life. I love her.

Of course, I went about it in the wrong way. I’m sure Kendall has heard my mother teasing me about Stephanie in the past and assumed I used her to get Stephanie off my back.

I need to tell her my side.

I need to come clean and tell her I wanted her long before the weekend. And will want her long after.

I enter my home office to answer emails when Brynlee comes in to kiss me goodnight.

“Tell Kendall to come see me after, okay? I forgot to tell her something.”

“Sure.” Brynlee kisses my cheek and dashes out, leaving the door open like I’ve asked her not to so many times.

I glance at my work but can’t concentrate.

Thirty minutes later, Kendall knocks on the half-open door. “You wanted to see me?”

I look at her. “Come in and close the door, please.”

Brynlee should be fast asleep, but I don’t want to risk her overhearing anything.

Kendall wears sensible clothes: a pair of sweatpants and a matching shirt. I know how she looks and tastes underneath that outfit. A wave of awareness washes through me.

I stand and walk around the desk. “I want to apologize for last night.”

She waves me off, shifting her weight from one foot to the other. “Don’t worry about it.”

Taking a deep breath, I step closer until we’re within a breath of each other. Her feminine scent weaves around me as I stare into her big brown eyes. The last thing I want is for her to think I’ve taken her for granted. “I do worry. I don’t want to hurt you… ever.”

“Sebastian.” Her voice is hoarse, like her breath is caught in her throat. “I believe you.”

She believes me. I catch her lips with mine, and Kendall encircles my head with her arms. I intensify the kiss, and she frantically touches my shoulders, chest, and abs like she wants to ensure I exist.

“I’ve missed you,” I mutter against her mouth.

“Me too.”

God, I missed her touch, her smile, her everything.

“Show me,” she whispers.

I lift her from the floor and set her on the desk without breaking the kiss. If anything, my tongue teases her with more intensity. I thrust my fingers into her hair, grabbing a handful and tugging it. I repeat the movement a couple of times to show her who’s boss.

She’s soft and warm in my arms. My cock is hard, and my blood jolts in my veins. I break the kiss and pull her sweatshirt over her head. Then, I reach around her back and unclasp her bra, watching it fall down her arms.

I coax her to lift her hips, pull down her pants and underwear, and toss them aside. She leans against the desk, naked, stunning, and all mine.

“How about you?” she whispers, then proceeds to remove my shirt and pull down my pants and boxers.

We stare at each other, sexual energy burning through the air. A warm sensation moves through my chest as I kneel in front of her and part her thighs. She gasps, surprised, and comes to a sitting position on the desk. I lap up, my tongue familiar with her slick folds but still eager to explore more.
