“Fine. I’ll put them on the front counter at work. We need some greenery in there.”

“Speaking of, have you talked to the new owners of the flower shop by my place yet?” Olivia asked.

“Yeah, it’s a husband and wife. The wife is lovely. But she did tell me that I am the last person who should be around plants,” Becca said with a laugh.

Olivia guffawed. “Why?”

“I knocked over a monstera on the way in. To be fair, it was right by the door. So much for your flower shop pipe dream,” Becca added.

I slapped my hand onto my forehead and cringed. “About that, I’m so sorry. I never should have underestimated you. I let my parent's misconceptions about you and your family cloud my judgment. You’re an amazing person and a brilliant businesswoman.”

Becca grabbed my hand and squeezed. “It’s okay. You had no idea.”

“I know, but I still feel bad!”

“Well, if I’m not too tired tonight, maybe you can make it up to me later,” Becca said with a wink. My cock stirred once more.

Olivia’s brow crumpled. “Ew! Oh, God.”

“Now you know how I felt when you got engaged! You and Jack were all over each other constantly.”

“We were not!”

I rolled my eyes. “You don’t remember because you were too busy playing tonsil hockey.”

Olivia elbowed my side. “Rude!”

“Becca?!” A familiar voice rang out from down the street. Jasmine waved wildly and picked up her pace, weaving between tourists. Jay followed behind.

“What are you doing here? I thought your break was at two! Wha—?” Her jaw hung open when she realized I stood next to Becca.

“Not that you have a break in anything,” she added quickly.

“You’re here to … observe the Tulips! So am I! They’re my favorite flower!” Jasmine exclaimed.

Becca waved her hand. “It’s okay, Jasmine. He knows. Also, hey, Jay! It’s good to see you.”

“He knows?” Jasmine yelled.

“He knows.”

I shot a look at Jasmine. “Wait, you know about The Cookie Cove?”

“Of course, she knows! She’s my best friend,” Becca replied.

“I was with her last year when she signed the lease! It was the worst twenty-first birthday party ever. We watched the paint dry. That’s why I dragged her to the Delphi Lounge for her twenty-second birthday. We needed a major re-do,” Jasmine explained.

“I’m glad you did,” Jay quipped, wrapping his arm around Jasmine’s waist. Jasmine grinned. Her cast was off. She looked great. It was good to see that she and Jay were still together.

“So, how’d you find out? Did Bex finally spill the beans?” Jasmine prodded.

I shook my head.

“I blew the lid off the whole thing. I’m Olivia, by the way,” Olivia supplied.

“Oh yeah! You own that bookstore down the street, right?” Jasmine asked.

Olivia nodded. “I also have the misfortune of being this one’s little sister,” she elbowed me in the ribs again.
