“You’re up early!” I exclaimed.

Becca yawned and wiggled, stirring the eggs with a fork before transferring them onto a plate.

“I felt like it! Today’s a big day. Do you want any eggs? You’ll need protein. Oh, and remember to bring a water bottle! Our booth has an awning, but it still gets hot, especially during midday. The town square’s right in the sun,” Becca quipped. She handed me a plate before I could reply.

“What’s gotten into you?” I asked, dumbfounded, as Becca slid a plate full of cheesy, scrambled eggs into my open hand.

“I think, and I don’t want to jinx it, we’ve reached an impasse, an agreement if you will,” Becca gestured toward her stomach before continuing.

“I think the twins understand that we’re in this together. This morning I woke up, and the first thing that happened wasn’t a recreation of a horror movie. I realized I was hungry in the normal way!” Becca was beaming. I hadn’t seen her this energetic in weeks.

“That’s great, Becks,” I said, sitting at the kitchen table.

“And just in time, too! Today’s supposed to be one of the busiest days of the year for the Farmer’s market. I need to be on my A-game. We all do.”

“I’m here for whatever you need,” I reassured her. At this point, I was more than ready to be Becca’s glorified muscle. There was no way I would let her haul heavy tins of cookies into her car. I told Becca I needed to email Jonathan while she finished getting ready, and I snuck the tins of fresh cookies into her car when she wasn’t looking. I hauled cardboard boxes full of individual paper sleeves for the cookies into the trunk. Then I layered the tinfoil trays of cookies on top. Becca also made a jug of cold brew.

I strapped it into the backseat like it was a child. The setup was like Tetris, one wrong move, and it felt like the whole thing would crumble. I popped into the front seat and checked that I could still see the blind spot. We were all good. It was hard work, and the sun wasn’t even fully out yet. I wiped the beads of sweat off my brow.

“Sebasti- Oh! You didn’t have to do that.” Becca stood before me wearing a loose floral print sundress. I could see her bump peeking out beneath the fabric. She looked both gorgeous and adorable. I hopped out of the car and wrapped my arms around her waist, cradling her bump.

“You have to realize there’s no way I’d let you carry all of this,” I said.

“Besides, it’s my first shift. I wanted to make a good impression on my boss. I hear she’s got some pretty high standards for her employees.” I moved her hair to the side and kissed her neck. Becca giggled and relaxed against me. We hadn’t had sex in a couple of weeks, and Becca was too exhausted to hold a conversation when she got home from work. I missed her; watching her curves expand and become even more luscious drove me wild. She was a goddess. Becca turned around and captured my lips, tilting her pelvis against me instinctually. I became instantly hard when I felt the swell of her belly against my groin.

“Hey, you don’t have any plans after the market, do you?” I asked.

Becca grinned when she felt my arousal against her, “Sebastian Steele, are you trying to seduce your boss?” she teased.

I laughed out loud. “How the tables turn!”

“Well, it’s working. I’ll let you know there’s no way I could fit a bra on with this sundress, do with that information what you will, and meet me in the bedroom this afternoon after you’re done unpacking the car.” She kissed me again and brushed her tongue along my teeth. I groaned as Becca pulled away. “We’re going to be late! It takes at least an hour to set up. Come on!” I watched Becca’s ass sway as she walked away and groaned again. No woman ever had a hold on me like Becca Cavanaugh. Knowing that she would be the mother of my children made her even sexier.

We drove to the Farmer’s Market and pulled into the parking lot behind the market as the sun rose, peeking over the trees.

Becca fished around the backseat until she found a large hot pink vinyl banner. She folded it over her arm. “I can at least carry this,” she insisted while I trailed behind her with four trays of cookies. Becca stopped at a stall with an iron table and a white fabric awning. “This is us,” she explained.

I made a motion to set the cookies on the table, but she stopped me. Becca unleashed a light pink floral sheet from beneath the banner and spread it onto the table, smoothing the creases.

“Presentation counts at the market,” she explained as she fastened the banner onto the front of the table. Again, it struck me that Becca was a born businesswoman. The stall was at a prime location, off one of the main roads leading to the town square. I guessed that The Cookie Cove would be one of the first businesses customers encountered when they entered the market.

“Place one flavor each on the table and put the extras underneath.” Becca ordered. I grinned; I liked having her boss me around. Again, it was sexy.

“Bossy much?” I teased.

“Well, I am the boss! Shit, I forgot the iPad and the card reader. One second.” Becca dashed back to her car, and I finished setting up the cookies. I snuck myself an oatmeal scotchie as a courier’s fee.

Becca and Ramon showed up at the same time. I was delighted when I saw Ramon unloading trays of burritos into the stall next to us.

“Sebastian, my man, you finally made it!” he bellowed with a friendly wave.

“Do you want a breakfast taco? I’ve got chorizo, egg, and cheese or a classic breakfast taco with eggs and crumbled hash browns. That one is garnished with queso fresco and cilantro,” Ramon said, pointing to each tray with a pair of tongs.

“I’ll take a chorizo, egg, and cheese!” Becca declared, her eyes widening.

“Same here.”

“Do either of you want a dirty horchata?” Ramon asked.
