Extending my arm, I hold out my hand, palm facing up. I don’t know what he’s going to put in my hand, but I know my brother well enough to know that he would have a problem if he gave me an order and I didn’t do it.

So, I stand with my arm extended and my palm facing up, waiting for whatever he’s going to place inside.

When something cool touches my hand, I look down at it. A coin sits in my palm. “A coin?” I ask.

“It’s a 50 pesos. It’s real gold and was made in 1925. This was our great-grandfather’s first real pay. It’s worth a couple thousand dollars now, but it is priceless to me. It shows us exactly how far our family has come.”

I almost laugh in his face. Our family hasn’t come far. My brothers are disgusting criminals, and my father was a criminal, too. I’m sure my grandfather and great-grandfather were as well. I didn’t know them.

Closing my hand, I grip the coin in my palm tightly. “I’ll want that back at the end of the wedding,” he states.

Inwardly, I roll my eyes. He is such an ass. “I’ll make sure you get it back after the ceremony,” I say with a smile.

“Good.” He smirks. “See you out there.”

He turns around and walks away. I’m a little disappointed that he didn’t comment on how I look. He also didn’t offer to walk me down the aisle, but at the same time, I know I don’t want him walking me anywhere.

Raul might be my flesh and blood, but I’m glad to be away from him and Dutch. Smoothing my dress, I take my foot out of my shoe and drop the coin inside. Something old. I slip my foot back inside and turn around to see Henli standing at the doorway.

I knew she didn’t leave. “Are you ready?” she asks.

“I am,” I whisper.

I’m ready to no longer be Piper Ruiz. I’m ready to not be associated with Raul and Dutch ever again. I’m ready to start a new life with a man who may not know me but has already shown me more kindness than any other man who has ever entered my life. I’m ready for a friendship with the women who are part of this group.

I’m ready to live.

ITCH

I didn’t think the clubhouse could be turned into a dream, but that’s the way this whole wedding looks. It’s a fucking dream. There are pretty, pink flowers all over the place and lights that dangle from pretty much everything.

A cake sits in the corner, with a wooden arch with flowers and shit all over it. Fuck. It seriously looks like a goddamn dream. Standing next to the preacher, I look down at my boots and jeans. Henli made me wear black jeans, a button-down black shirt, and a black suit jacket with a black tie.

Slowly, I lift my head and peer down the aisle. Piper isn’t here yet, she’s not walking down, but I scan the audience. Dutch is sitting next to Raul. I inwardly seethe at the sight of both of them. I fucking hate them, and I will watch them suffer—happily.

Growling under my breath, I hear Legacy clear his throat beside me. “Not today,” he murmurs.

When he says those words, it sounds like there will be a day, but I know there won’t. Cyrus is protected. These fuckers are protected… at least they think they are.

Legacy thinks that they are, too, but as they stare at me smugly, I can’t help but wonder what their lives will be like in just a few weeks’ time. Hopefully, it will be their own living hell. Their worst nightmare come to life.

“But it will happen,” I quip under my breath.

The music starts, and all thoughts of Raul, Dutch, Cyrus, and anything else that involves them, drugs, and the past instantly vanish because my bride appears.

If I thought that the wedding decorations were a dream, then I have died and am in heaven. Piper is stunning. No, she’s more than stunning. There are no words to describe the woman who glides toward me.

She walks alone, a small bouquet of flowers in her hands, her eyes on mine, looking beautiful in every way imaginable. I press my lips together as she moves toward me. She is a sight. It hits me all over again that she is indeed too young and far too beautiful for me.

When she’s close enough, I wrap my hand around hers and tug her closer to me. The officiant begins, but I can’t take my eyes off this woman. She’s so beautiful. I should end this right now.

I am not deserving of her at all, and yet, she’s contracted to me. I’m going to do what I can to keep her and make her happy. When it’s time, I take the ring out of my pocket and slide the diamond onto her finger.

There is a gasp, and I look into her eyes to see her lips parted. “That’s too much,” she whispers.

“It’s not enough,” I reply.

She puts a ring on my finger, then we finish up and seal it all with a kiss. Sliding my tongue inside of her mouth, I taste her. Mine. She is all mine, and she will never be anyone else’s. When I lift my head, I grip her hand in mine and turn us both to face the people watching.
