Writing it all down, I looked up. “How do I do that?”

“You’ll need…” She turned to her table and reached for something. “…one green candle.”

She set the candle down in front of me.

“One tablespoon of cinnamon powder.”

She placed a small bag next to the candle.

“And salt.”

“Salt?” I asked. “What is it with the salt?”

Lucy gave me a warning look.

“Sorry, go on.”

She nodded.

“You’re going to put the green candle on the center of your altar.”

“Got it. Is a regular table okay?”

“Yes, a regular table is okay.”

Was that a touch of amusement in her voice?

“Spread some salt around the candle to protect it.”

I chewed on my lower lip as I wrote. “Okay, got it.”

“Then you’ll take a deep breath. Exhale. Have Lucas do the same. Then have him say, ‘Bad luck, I command you to leave me right now.’”

Looking up in horror, I asked, “He has to say it? He has to be there?”

She nodded. “Then after he says it, you’ll light the green candle. Have him take a moment to visualize how the bad luck has been affecting him. This is important.”

“Fuck me,” I whispered.

Ignoring me, she went on. “After he does that, he has to repeat the words, ‘All adversity now dissolves.’”

I shook my head and dropped the pen. It would never work. How in the heck would I ever talk Lucas into doing this? He would think I was crazy. “Can’t I do this without Lucas?”

“No.”

Her answer was clipped.

My hand went to my stomach in an attempt to calm the sick feeling. “What next?” I softly asked.

“Have him close his eyes and visualize an empty canvas. Tell him to fill that canvas with whatever he would like to attract. He can look at it as a new beginning. A fresh start. It’s important he takes his time with this part.”

I swallowed hard. He was going to have me committed and would most likely laugh while they dragged me away in a straight jacket. I’d have to remind him I was the only person who could make his brother’s proposal amazing.

“Next, have him open his eyes and sprinkle cinnamon over the circle of salt. Cinnamon helps manifest positive change. A very powerful spice, in many ways.”

I nodded.

“Then he has to say, ‘Only good luck and positive energy flows to me now.’”
