"Any other requests or rules?" I ask.

"As Girls' Night members, we have all entered into a sacred sisterhood. And, as sisters, our bond is sealed by truth. Nothing leaves these walls, so no lies," says Tyra solemnly, but a drunk hiccup somewhat diminishes the effect. Oh god, we're all soused.

"I agree," Holly nods. "No lies. We joke around most of the time, but we are here for each other. We are here to help! You won't find any judgment here. This is a judge-free zone, except for what we say about the people on reality TV. Bachelor and Bachelorette contestants are fair game."

We all laugh again. Part of our Girls' Night includes watching the premiere of our favourite show.

Over the next hour or so, we all laugh, gossip, and ignore our phones. I've missed this. I've missed hanging out with girlfriends and maybe being a little buzzed. This past year has been a whirlwind with the team and SASS. Holly and I haven't taken enough time to relax.

"Be quiet," Riley yells, eyes glued to the TV. "The limos are coming. God, I should sign up for this show. Look how hot Joe is. And he owns a grocery store! How cute is that!" Okay, I admit Joe is hot, but I may be biased. I have a soft spot for dark-haired love interests. As for the grocery store, I don't understand the job titles the producers for the show dream up. Like, what the fuck is a "Whaboom?" And "Aspiring Dolphin Trainer" is not a job! This show is so ridiculous I can't look away.

"Are you kidding me?" Lily laughs. "I would never go on a show like this unless I was the bachelorette and had twenty-five men to choose from."

"You don't need to go on a show like this. You're already in love with someone," Taylor adds.

"I am not!"

Everyone in the room stares at Lily, who stares back guiltily.

"I'm not," she attempts to deny again, but it sounds pathetic even to her own ears. "Okay, maybe I am. Just a little bit, but it's pointless."

"Love is never pointless," Tyra encourages as if being the queen of romcoms makes her an expert on all things love. "If it's real, it's worth it."

"I can't force Chase to love me."

"Lily, don't be ridiculous," I intercede. “Chase has feelings for you. He's just afraid of your brother."

"Luke is harmless," Holly says in defence of her fiancé.

"Ha! To you he is." Taylor cackles, and it's slightly maniacal. "You've got that man wrapped around your little finger. But if Chase put the moves on his little sister, he would lose his shit."

We argue whether Luke would actually cause bodily harm to Chase if and when he and Lily get together. The only thing we can agree on is that Lily and Chase will happen. It's just a matter of time.

"Okay, truth time," Tyra says. "It's time to dish."

"Who's first?" Riley asks.

"Holly," Tyra starts. "I'm not one to listen to rumours, but I have to ask. Is it true you were a virgin when you met Luke?"

I burst out laughing as Holly's face turns a shade of red reserved for stop signs.

"Yes," she whispers into her wine glass. "It's true."

"How is that possible?" Tyra follows up on her first question. "You're gorgeous. You're successful. What the hell is wrong with men today? No wonder I gave up on them ages ago."

"Wait," Taylor interrupts, turning to Holly. "How did I not know this? I'm your sister, Holly. I didn't know Luke was your first!"

"To be fair," I cut in. "She didn't know you existed until after the deed was done."

"I didn't know you were gay until last week," Holly throws back at Taylor. "It's not like I advertised my virginity on a t-shirt or something."

"Taylor's gay?" Riley breaks in, confused. "When did this happen? I feel like I miss all the big news."

"It's not news, Riley," Taylor laughs. "Living, breathing lesbian here. It's not like I woke up last week and decided I didn't like dick."

"Okay, but have you ever tried one?” Lily asks, raising an eyebrow.

"Yes. It was terrible. And, Probably, because I wasn't attracted to the guy and only had sex because in high school all my friends were doing it."
