“Okay.”

“Hey,” he reached out and caught me by the arm, kissing me good morning. The taste of cinnamon and sugar was still on his lips. “Have a good class, baby girl.”

“Thank you.”

“You have anywhere to be later?”

I shook my head. “No, why?”

“They’ll be working on your room, so I thought I’d take you somewhere.”

“Where?”

He kissed me one more time, slowly. “It’s a surprise.” Chuckling at my pout, he handed me a to-go cup with one of his smoothies.

I made a face. “I love your smoothies, but you’re not going to make me eat breakfast before every class now, are you?”

“Makeyou? No. But I’d like it if you did.”

“Ah, a guilt trip. I see your games, Alpha.”

Jace smirked. “I see we didn’t fuck all the sass out of you last night.”

“Never.”

Tilting my chin up, I got lost in hazel eyes for a moment, and he grinned. “Well, in case you forgot, as your Alphaandyour physio, it’s literally my job to keep you healthy. So take the smoothie, and we’ll fight it out later. Or fuck it out.”

“You’re just saying that cause you’ll win.”

“Maybe.”

The sound of Asher’s bike came from out front, and I waved. “Gotta go.”

“Bye, baby girl.”

I came out of the house to Ash stepping off his bike. He smiled as he grabbed my helmet. “Morning.”

“Morning.”

Asher’s arms came around me, and he kissed me. The way he kissed me when we were in the nest last night. Tilting my head, tangling our tongues, stealing my breath. Slow and heated, his hands slid down my spine.

A car honked, and I broke away. Ash wasn’t remotely embarrassed, eyes glimmering with amusement and heat. “What was that for?”

“I was without you long enough.” He winked and helped me slide on the helmet. “I’m going to kiss you every chance I get.”

“Can’t say I mind.”

“Good.” He stowed my things and lifted me up and over the bike. “I need to get you a leather jacket, backpack.”

I tucked my hands into the pockets of his in order to hold on and shield my hands from the morning chill. “I don’t know that I’m on the bike enough for that.”

“You might be,” his voice came through the helmet speaker. “What if I want to take you on a long drive out of the city?”

Fair point. There were places we’d talked about visiting when we were in school and never did. Near Lakewood, there were huge fields of flowers. The terrain was mostly wetlands, and they grew flowers to sell. There were ways to get in, but we hadn’t had time. There were some he always said reminded him of my eyes.

“Do you remember the flowers?”

We paused at a red light and he placed his hand over mine. “Yeah, sweetheart, I do.”
