Jace laughed. “That seems fair.”

“We still have two days until rehearsals start again and our lives go back to being busy,” Ash said. “Remember when I said you wouldn’t have to choose?”

I stared at him, an inkling of what he meant whirling around in my mind. But like hell was I going to be the one to say it.

Ash grinned like he could see the wheels of my brain turning. “Want to have a bonding ceremony tomorrow?”

My mouth dropped open. “Really?”

“Another thing your grandmother said. She’ll happily let us use anywhere on the property.”

Going back to rehearsals, beingbondedto them. Feeling everything they felt and knowing we were permanent. Wanting it and asking for it was one thing, the reality of it being tomorrow was another.

Joy bubbled up from somewhere deep. “Yeah.”

“Yeah?” Roman asked.

“Yes.” I pulled the covers up over my head, all the emotions too much. “I want that. But there’s no way we can do that tomorrow.”

A weight dropped on my stomach on top of the blanket, and when I peeked out, my hair wild and rumpled, my phone lay there. Jace raised an eyebrow and grinned. “It’s a good thing we know someone who’s very, verygood at getting things done quickly.”

I only paused for a second before snatching the phone and dialing. Mango jumped and batted at the phone like it was a toy, and Roman intervened, distracting the kitten with his fingers dragging over my blanket-covered legs instead.

She answered on the second ring. “This is Addison.”

“Addison, it’s Sloane.”

“Hey! I hope you’re liking your bedroom.”

“I amlovingmy bedroom,” I said. “But I’m actually calling about something else.”

Through the phone her environment got quieter, like she’d shut a door behind her. “Oh?”

All my Alphas purred, and I had a hard time containing my smile. “What are you doing for the next two days?”

CHAPTER FORTY-TWO

________

SLOANE

My heart was in my throat as I looked in the mirror. The dress was perfect—a silvery white with hints of iridescent blues, purples, and oranges that shone whenever the fabric moved. And it never stopped moving because of the way it draped. Off one shoulder, it looked like it hung off the other one too, the bodice somehow making it stay upright before the dress clung to my body and dripped down to the floor. A filmy train flowed from the back, spreading out behind me, lighter than air when I walked.

“You look fucking stunning,” Eva said. “Iris is a miracle worker.”

“Yes, she is.”

The minute I told Addison what the plan was, everyone rallied. Eva jumped in to help, calling her favorite designer—who she happened to have on speed dial—and suddenly I was being whisked away from my Alphas and to Bergman’s with security in tow.

My grandmother was beside herself with happiness, helping Addison with ideas to make everything even more over the top.

And all I could think about was them.

Petra placed her hands on my shoulders behind me. “I want to hug the shit out of you right now, but I don’t want to wrinkle the dress.”

“After the pictures you can hug the shit out of me,” I giggled.

Esme reached forward and adjusted one of the curls hanging down around my face. “I’m really happy for you, Sloane.”
