“When are we going?”

Ash still had his arms around me. “Now, if you’re ready.”

“I need better pants, but yes.”

I sprinted for my room, changing into what I needed and grabbing the jacket from the living room. My three Alphas in there caught me. Gabriel wrapping me up. “Be safe, little one.”

Beneath their love, I felt their fear. It was in me too, but we needed to move past it if we were to live with it. “I will.”

He kissed me. They all kissed me. Tenderly. Lovingly. Wordless promises of what would come when Ash and I got home. I glowed with love and tears by the time I made it downstairs and out the front door.

Ash looked me up and down, grinning ear to ear. He zipped up my jacket, lips crashing down on mine like they had that morning a year ago.

Helping me put my helmet on, he got on the bike and then helped me, pulling my hands around his waist. He was filled with grief and regret, but also determination and resolution. And love. For me, for Will, for our entire pack. For life, in spite of all the pain that came with it.

Ash revved the engine. “Ready, backpack?”

“Ready.”
