“A party?” I pull the phone from my ear and whisper, “Kastle, don’t—”

He slams into me. Pins me to the wall.

For a moment, my breath gets trapped in my throat. My mind swims with savory ideas.

His big hands on my thighs.

His firm lips on my chest.

His body sinking into me.

“Hang up.” His fingers grip my wrist. Lift. Push it against the wall, right above my head.

His mother’s voice squeals from the speakers, but I hear it like it’s from far away. Somewhere we don’t exist anymore.

He presses harder into me. “Now.”

“Will you tell me what’s wrong?” My heart thunders. Every inch of me begs for more of his touch. He smells so good. He feels so good. Intense. Dark. Commanding.

What he’s like when he’s in the boardroom.

In the bedroom.

I assume.

I’ve never actually…

We don’t talk about that.

But I’ve imagined it.

More times than is healthy.

He’s always taking care of me. Always. And if I ever got the chance to be with him…

“That’s enough, Kae.” His eyes sear into mine.

I lift my chin to meet his gaze. Struggle to grab onto words that aren’t the thoughts currently wading through my head. Thoughts like please don’t stop touching me. Please don’t move back. Please get rid of the fabric between us so there’s nothing in the way of my skin and yours.

Kastle slips my phone from my lax grip. Presses the red button. Hangs up on his mom.

He’s still holding me against the wall. Still invading my space.

We’re always together but never like this.

This close.

This… intimate.

There are light brown flecks in his black eyes. They’re such soulful eyes. Dark. Compelling. An abyss I want to fall deep inside of.

“You hungry?” He steps back.

My brain flips a switch as common sense wrestles for control. The moment Kastle tries to slide his hand away from my wrist, I grab onto it and keep him there. “What was that?”

“Food.”

“You just—”
