Damn near rocks my world.

She’s leagues ahead of the models I usually go for.

Those girls wear makeup before stepping into the shower and freak out when one lock of hair is out of place.

Shanel owned her flaws last night and that confidence was freaking sexy.

Her eyes lift at that moment.

Our gazes lock.

I head over to her before she can duck into a hallway and disappear.

My hand automatically reaches for her wrist to keep her in place, but I remember her request that I not haul her around and let my hand drop on her shoulder instead. “Hey.”

Catherine grins brightly at me. “Hey, Hawk.”

I nod at her.

Shanel sighs. “Do we have to do this now?”

“Yes.” I lean against the lockers. “You didn’t answer my texts.”

“I didn’t get them.”

“You’re cute when you lie.” I caress her cheek.

“I’m not lying.”

I smirk.

Catherine glances between us. “I should head to class.”

“Stay,” Shanel mumbles.

I flick my fingers in Catherine’s direction. “Go.”

She struts away.

Shanel whirls on me. “You can’t just command people to stay and leave. That’s rude.”

“I want you to myself.”

She huffs. “You’re making things unnecessarily difficult, you know.”

“And you being stubborn is unnecessarily sexy.”

“I can’t date you.”

“Why?”

She frowns.

I fold my arms over my chest, my face darkening. “Is it Miles?”

“Of course not.”

“Is someone bothering you then?”
