“Or what? You’re going to tell Hawk on me?”

“No,” a voice rings out. “I’ll tell Hawk.”

Everyone freezes.

I glance behind me and find Fitz and Barclay standing in the middle of the hallway.

Lassandra gasps. “B4.”

“You know,” Barclay slips a hand into his pocket, “Hawk will be pissed if he finds out you’re terrorizing his girlfriend. That man has a nasty temper. Especially when you mess with his things.”

“I’m not his thing,” I mumble.

Fitz’s sharp eyes find mine. Is that really a point you need to make right now?

I pin my lips shut. Touché.

Lassandra smirks confidently. “Run along boys. This is a matter between us girls.”

“Are you saying we can’t crash?” Barclay asks.

“Why would you?”

“Maybe we want to chill.”

Lassandra bats her eyelashes. “You?”

Barclay swaggers up to her. With a patient stroke, he pulls her hair away from her eyes. “I’ve always found the goth style… fascinating.”

“Really?”

“Did you dye your hair recently?”

“I’ve been using this new shampoo…”

“Tell me about it.” Barclay swings his arm over her shoulder. “Over drinks?”

Lassandra melts into his side. The rest of the girls swoon in tandem, surrounding him like groupies clamoring for their favorite rock star.

Barclay gives them all a practiced, I’m so sexy smile.

Fitz offers his hand to me. “Come on. Let’s get out of here while they’re distracted.”

Oh Lord. Have I mentioned that Fitz Choi was my favorite from the movie?

There’s something about his angular face, his deep black eyes and his chic style that does something to me.

I hesitantly drop my hand into his palm.

He wraps his fingers around mine. “Barclay won’t be able to distract them for long.” He squeezes my hand urgently. “You good to run?”

I nod.

“Go!”

We race down the hallway together.

My heartbeat speeds up and a stupid grin pushes my cheeks.
