I fall into the sofa and slam my sneakers against the edge of the coffee table. Fitz and Barclay seem uncomfortable as they stand across the room, trying to look casual behind the bar.

“What’s the emergency?” I bark.

“I have things to do today.”

“So do we.” Fitz arches an eyebrow. “But this is important.”

I scowl at him.

He returns it with a calm look.

My fingers tap the sides of my legs.

The clock ticks loudly.

I’ve got tons of messages.
