“You’d be okay for me to go back to stripping?” I ask, surprised.

“Why wouldn’t I?” Colt shrugs. “You were a stripper when I met you and I had no problem with it. Why would I want you to change?”

A grin takes over my face. I thought I couldn’t love him more than I did yesterday, but I was wrong.

“Sydney?” I say and he nods, smiling. I look around at the packing again and admit to myself there’s not much left here for me. What would I be staying for, anyway?

“Sure, why not?” My words are casual, but inside I’m screaming with happiness. And judging by how wide the grin on Colt’s face is, I’d say he’s feeling the same way.

“Do you think the city can handle us?” I ask.

“What, a couple of romantics like us? Yeah, we’ll be fine.” Colt mocks, and picking up a pillow, I swat him.

“I have a reputation to uphold, you know.” I joke.

“Yeah, I know.” Colt slings an arm around me and pulls me close for a kiss. “Don’t worry, no matter how soft you get, you’ll always be sassy to me.”

THE END
