“What do you think?” Ollie says. “It was pretty stupid even to consider.” He glares at Ed when he says that. “Maybe she hates us now, all thanks to you.”

“Really?” Ed says. “I don’t remember you being too upset last night when I suggested it. She’s probably just a little embarrassed by what went down. She’ll be down soon.”

“What were you actually thinking?” Ollie asks.

“What all of us were,” I say. My brothers turn to look at me. “Oh, cut the crap. I know you two well enough to know you’re attracted to Susan. There’s no point beating around the bush.” Ed opens his mouth to protest, but I cut him off. “Yes, even you, Ed. I saw the way you were looking at her.”

Ed shuts his mouth for good.

Ollie shifts in his chair. “Is this something we should be discussing?”

“What?” Ed asks, his brows furrowing together.

“You know, the whole sharing thing,” Ollie says. “I don’t think it’s a terrible idea.”

“We are brothers,” I remind him. “If we do this, there have to be some ground rules.”

“You’re talking in what-ifs,” Ed says. He points his chin toward the stairs, in the general direction of my room. “You’re conveniently forgetting that she doesn’t want it.”

“I don’t think she didn’t want it, per se,” Ollie says. “I think she was just overwhelmed at that particular moment.”

“Wow,” I say. “You just showed more emotional maturity than you ever have before.”

Ollie glares at me. “You need to stop treating me like a brainless fuck.”

“It’s not that,” I say. “Don’t you see? There’s something different about this girl.”

“I agree,” Ollie says.

I turn my gaze to Ed, who’s looking down at his food stonily. “Oh, come on, I know you agree too. There’s a reason you suggested the four-way.”

Ollie cringes. “Can we not call it that?”

Ed puts his knife down. “I only suggested it because I knew she wouldn’t actually go through with it. And I was right.” He doesn’t meet my gaze, and I can tell he’s lying. My brother isn’t impulsive like Ollie. He knows exactly what he’s doing. He’s always in control, even when he’s angry.

“It’s too bad she chickened out when she did,” Ollie says.

“Really?” I say. “What if she hadn’t?” I for one would have loved to see how that panned out.

Ollie scratches his head. “How do you do it? Fuck, do we have to actually start reading her books to understand what happens?”

“Except we don’t have internet,” Ed says solemnly.

The idea that Ed is actually thinking of looking up Susan’s books to understand what reverse harem is like is hilarious. I burst out laughing.

Ed frowns. “What’s so funny?”

I wipe invisible tears from my eyes. “That you would need pointers from books to know about fucking.”

Ed scowls. “It’s more than that, isn’t it? Especially if it’s going to involve all of us.”

He’s giving it serious thought then.

“What if,” I remind him.

“Yeah, there’s no point talking about it if she isn’t down,” Ollie says, shrugging.

“I don’t think coercion is in her book exactly,” I say.
