“I’m sorry, are you actually disappointed by that?” He takes a closer look at my face. “Edward Lewis, did you really think what happened with Susan was going to be a one-time thing?”

“Maybe,” I say.

He shakes his head. “I can’t believe it. I know for a fact that you orgasmed—”

“Don’t even fucking start on that,” I say, turning to scowl at him. “We don’t talk about this to each other.”

“You mean the sex thing?” he says.

I wince. “Yes.” Now that the post-sex haze has gone away, I see things clearly. “We’re brothers.”

“And?” Ollie says.

“Do I really need to spell it out for you?” I say.

“Woah, this has nothing to do with you,” Ollie says. “I promise I don’t have the hots for you. We’re identical triplets, it would be like hitting on myself.”

I roll my eyes, resisting the urge to smile.

“It’s all about Susan,” Ollie says. “She’s the force of attraction. For all three of us.”

I couldn’t agree more. Even though I would love nothing more than for her to leave, I can’t deny the chemistry I had with her.

“And she obviously preferred you more,” Ollie says, shooting me a look that I interpret as jealousy, his eyes narrowed. I never thought my brother would have a reason to be jealous of me.

“You think?” I say, trying to keep my voice even and keep the excitement out of it.

“Of course,” Ollie says grudgingly. “Don’t tell me you didn’t see it.”

“Nah, you’re overthinking it,” I say. “This is new for all three of us.”

“Well, not exactly new for me,” Ollie says.

I pause before saying, “If this is you trying to tell me you’ve had sex beside me when I was sleeping…” I trail off.

Ollie gasps. “What’s happening? Did you really try to make a joke, albeit a super lame one?”

I punch him on his arm. “Shut up. The eggs will burn.”

I flip them over, sprinkling some parsley and rosemary on them. I learned to cook when I was five because I knew at a young age that I would have to not only take care of myself, but my brothers.

“But seriously though…this is a nice change,” Ollie says. “I know it’ll take all of us a little time to really get into it, but last night was pretty amazing considering it was our first time.”

“Yeah,” I say, my gaze on the pan in front of me.

“What’s going on in your head?”

“It’s just that, we’ve never had anyone in our home before. It was just us three,” I say. “It feels a little strange that the person who was a trespasser yesterday would be sharing our bed.”

“I’m sorry, which part is confusing you—the fact that all three of us had hot sex with a stranger because she offered herself up, or that you don’t like having another person in our cabin? There’s plenty of room to live in. Besides, she won’t be the first person up here.”

“You mean your conquests?” I say, turning to face him. “So you are bringing them up without my knowledge.”

“No, I never break the rules, and I’m not talking about those women,” Ollie says. His face softens. “I’m talking about Fiona.”

I grip the ladle harder, and it’s a miracle the wood doesn’t splinter. “She came to visit. Even she wasn’t allowed to stay.”

“That one was kind of on you,” Ollie says. “You made all these arbitrary rules.”
