“What do you want?” I ask slowly as my heart races. Gabriella gives me a small smile.
“I want for you to put that ring on my finger and for us to get through all of this together. I want you to make me your wife, and I want us to live the life that Oli wanted for us in the end.”
I take the ring from the box and lift her left hand. I slide the ring I gave her when we were kids from her finger and replace it with the new one. I lift her hand and place a kiss on her new engagement ring.
“I love you,” I whisper, leaning forward and kissing her lips.
“I love you too,” she whispers back.
“I knew one day I would have to stop calling you princess.”
“Why?” Gabriella asks, grinning, wrapping her legs around my waist as I lift her from the desk and carry her towards our room.
“Because I knew I would have to change it from princess to queen. Because no other title is fitting enough for the woman who stands beside me as my equal. It was always going to be you, Gabriella. No one else has ever held my heart but you.”
