“That’s because you have a habit of forgetting what your limit is,” he says firmly. It reminds me a little of how someone used to speak to me, and I freeze, not knowing what to do.

“No, it’s because you’re the strict one and like it that way,” Jasmine replies, and I notice a little bit of a tease in her tone.

“Jasmine,” Christian warns, but it goes unheard as Jasmine winks at me, lifts onto her tiptoes, and kisses his cheek.

“I know, behave myself. I’m only teasing,” she grins before looking back at Calvin.

“I’m glad to see you here and that you took my advice. Hopefully, we will be able to catch up soon, and you can fill me in on any updates from when we last spoke,” Christian says to Calvin, whose arm tightens around me.

“A catch-up would be great. I’ll give you a shout in the week,” Calvin replies.

“Great, I look forward to it,” Christian says before looking at me. “It was lovely to meet you, Ms Hughes. Please excuse us; my fiancée will continue to bug me until I find someone she is looking forward to seeing,” Christian says as Jasmine threads her arm through his, and he looks down at her, grinning.

“I like to keep you on your toes. Wouldn’t want you getting bored now, would I?” Jasmine says, smiling up at her man.

“Sweetheart, there hasn’t been a boring moment since you danced your way into our lives.”

Jasmine once again lifts and presses a kiss to his lips.

“Good answer, Daddy,” she winks before turning her attention back to me. “It was lovely to meet you, Chelsea. I hope we see you both again soon,” she adds with a smile before Christian leads her away, and I can see them both grinning at each other, especially when Christian grabs a glass of champagne from a passing waiter and hands it to her.

“Did she call him Daddy? Or was that my imagination?” I ask Calvin, who laughs beside me.

“Yeah, I’m so used to it that I forget it’s not normal for most people.”

“So, is he her father or her fiancée? Because I don’t know what just happened.”

Calvin laughs again as he leads us away from the crowds and towards the table, we have been sitting at for part of the night.

“Both, but let me explain,” he says as I turn to face him with my mouth open. I was about to say that’s illegal, but then I wait to see what he says.

“Do you remember me saying that the four O’Reilly brothers are with the same woman, Jasmine?” I nod. “Well, they are also her doms; daddy doms, to be precise.”

“I’ve heard of that before, but I thought it was just in the bedroom,” I reply quietly, looking around nervously. This feels like the type of conversation that should happen in private.

“For most people, it is, but it’s a lifestyle choice for some. The O’Reilly’s take care of Jasmine in a way no one else has. She had a tough upbringing, and the only people who had her back were taken from her at a young age. The O’Reillys look after her in a way she has always wanted. She doesn’t have to worry about anything. I’m not just talking financially, as they make decisions for her and encourage her in a way that helps her stay on track.

“They may come across as strict at times, like when he said she couldn’t have another drink, but for Jasmine, that’s what she wants and needs. As you saw, he gave her another one anyway, but he would have only done so once he knew she wasn’t close to getting drunk.”

“So, she likes being told what to do?” I ask. Calvins tips his head from side to side as if trying to work out how to phrase it.

“Yes and no. She likes that they stop her from making bad choices. When I first met Jasmine properly, she was in a very bad place, physically and mentally. She had fled her home, as her mother was a drug addict. She was in a lot of debt and lived in a rundown apartment because it was all she could afford. Jasmine was also close to being kicked out of her dance school, where she is a ballerina and a bloody good one at that. She was stick thin as she couldn’t afford to eat and a shell of the woman she is today.

“But the brothers changed that. They took her in and gave her everything she could possibly need. They made sure she started eating three meals a day, stopped drinking as much, and had everything she needed for school. She was in love with them for years before they took her in. They had loved her too and waited four years for her to become twenty-one. There is absolutely nothing that they wouldn’t do for that woman; they may be her daddies, but she has them wrapped around her little finger, really.”

I look around the room until my eyes fall on Jasmine and Christian. Jasmine is talking to someone excitedly as Christian watches her lovingly, with one hand on the bottom of her back, keeping close but letting her do her own thing at the same time. It's kind of the same way Calvin has been with me tonight.

I turn my attention back to Calvin, who is watching me with a slight smile on his face.

“They look happy,” I say, looking back towards them to see Jasmine leaning against Christian, who lovingly kisses the top of her head.

“I’ve known that man for five years, and I can honestly say she is the best thing that ever happened to him, to happen to all of them. She brought so much light into their lives when they needed it the most,” he answers, watching the two himself. He looks around the room before grinning at me.

“Do you think we have done enough networking for one night?”

“I think you have certainly spread the word about your company,” I answer, frowning. Calvin stands and holds out his hand for mine.

“Come with me.”
