“I never claimed I didn’t,” he mutters under his breath. I freeze, convinced I must have misheard him.

I quickly gather my stuff and stand up to head home.

“Thank you for all your help today, Chels. I’m sorry if I ruined your plans.”

I turn to find Logan watching me with a look that makes me wonder if there is something else he wants to say.

“You’re welcome. Goodnight, Logan.” I am almost out of the door when I hear his reply.

“Goodnight, Chelsea.”

I walk out of the building and head to the parking lot, determined to put some much-needed space between me and the guy with more mood swings than a teenage girl.

???

I pull up outside my house and let out a relaxing breath. I can’t believe how late it is. I truly am exhausted, and all I can think about doing is eating some cereal and going to bed. But instead, I’m hit by the aroma of lasagna when I walk in through the front door.

“He let you finally leave then?” Calvin smirks as I walk into the lounge and drop into the sofa beside him, exhausted. I look at the clock on the wall and see it’s gone nine o’clock.

“Is he always so busy?” I groan, leaning my head back and closing my eyes whilst Cavin chuckles beside me.

“We try to refer to it as ‘passionate about his job’. But yeah, he’s a bossy bastard. He always has been.” He places an arm around my shoulders and pulls me against him, so I’m leaning my cheek on his broad chest. I allow myself to relax in his arms as I really need to be held right now. Something I have always missed.

“Did Luna behave herself?” I ask, looking up. Calvin nods whilst running a hand over my head.

“She was as good as gold. She helped make dinner and fell asleep watching a film.”

“Thank you for watching her. I’m sorry it all took so long.”

Calvin cups my cheek in his hand and gives me a warm smile.

“If ever you need anything like a babysitter, or even for someone to do the shopping for you because you are too busy, I want you to phone me, okay? I want to help you, especially as you don’t seem to look after yourself as well as you do others.”

“Logan said the same kind of thing today,” I sigh rolling my eyes, as Calvin chuckles. “Can I ask you something?”

“Sure.”

“Is Logan always so … confusing?” I jump slightly as Calvin bursts out laughing.

“The only person who knows what goes on in that head of his is him,” Calvin answers as he kisses the top of my head. “What’s he done now?”

“He was just being an asshole when I got there earlier. So, I called him out on it and told him he never paid a bit of notice to anyone around him, so he kindly listed things he had noticed about me. Things I hadn’t even realised I do,” I admit nervously. I’m in another man’s arms, yet I like that another man pays such close attention to what I do.

Calvin laughs as he shakes his head as I sit up so I can see him without straining my already sore neck.

“Ever heard of the saying, ‘thou doth protest too much’? Well, that’s our Houdini. He likes to pretend that he cares about nothing or nobody. You’re more likely to work out the meaning of life than what goes on in that head of his. But if he does care about you, you can guarantee there is nothing he wouldn’t do for you. The fact that he has even taken the time to notice things about you shows that he does care in his own way.” Calvin reaches up and threads his fingers into the hair at the back of my head, locking me in place as he moves so his lips are barely touching mine.

“Now go get some food and then rest before I end up taking you to bed and showing you all the things I’ve noticed about you.” He kisses my lips softly before looking deep into my eyes. “Like how your eyes roll back ever so slightly when I do this,” his hand tightens in my hair and I know I prove him right. “Or how your body shudders as you flood my hand and mouth with that sweet cum.” His lips crash into mine, and I melted into his touch.

I wrap my arms around his neck, holding him as close as possible. I’m desperate for his touch, for him to relieve the pressure that suddenly building within me. I need him like I need air and this time, I want all of him. I lean back slightly, and Calvin takes the hint because, in seconds I am on my back, and he is between my legs. Why, of all days, did I decide to wear trousers today?

“Tell me to leave, and I will. But ask me to stay, and I don’t think you will be getting much sleep tonight,” he teases as his hand runs up my thigh and cups my butt cheek. He squeezes slightly, and my mind’s made up.

“Stay.”

Calvin grins down at me before things start moving at a hundred miles an hour. I unfasten his jeans and reveal his gorgeous cock, which springs into view as soon as it's no long restricted. Is it wrong that it turns me on seeing the effect I have on this man?

I take him in my hand as I sit up and stroke him.
