“Thank you, Logan.”
“Anything for you two baby, you know that.” I continue to watch her as she walks up the stairs and into her room before turning to the front door, opening it, and grabbing her keys from the door so I can close it behind me.
I walk out into the front garden and look around for anything that stands out as being out of place. Everything seems to be as I last saw it. I head over to underneath Chelsea's window, half expecting to find a dead bird or bat that may have hit her window in the night. But what I find is that one of the bushes seems a little trampled. I can’t make out any footprints so I can’t say it was a person for sure. This area is known for its wildlife, such as badgers and foxes; either of them could have made this mess.
I continue to look around and spot one or two other areas where the long grass seems to be trampled down, but again, there is no way of knowing for sure what made the marks. But as I start to examine the area under Luna's window, I find two unmissable footprints. Both of identical bootprints. I look up the side of the house and realise someone has tried to climb the wooden trellis which comes to a stop underneath her window.
“Shit.”
I pull my phone out of my pocket and call Calvin.
“Hey, you found them? Are they okay?” he asks as soon as the call connects.
“Someone tried to break into the house last night through Luna's window.”
“What the fuck! Who, I’ll fucking kill them!” he yells, I can hear Drew asking questions in the background and Calvin filling him in.
“We are on our way. We want to check in on them and make sure they are alright.” Calvin snaps through gritted teeth.
“Wait up, I’ve sent Chelsea back to bed, and Luna is sleeping in with her mom. They haven’t slept much, so don’t rush. I need you to do me a favour though as I promised I would stay until they woke up.”
“What do you need?” Calvin asks. I give him a list of things to chuck in an overnight bag for me and let them know I’m staying tonight. Calvin asks if I think we should make sure one of us is there every night and I agree. We don’t know who it was who tried to get in and they might not try again but with everything that’s been going on at Young’s, I can’t help wondering if it’s all connected somehow.
“Before you come round go into the storage at work and get some surveillance cameras. I want to fit them around the outside so we can keep an eye on things when we can’t be here. I’m also going to ask Chels about the locks on her doors. I think it’s a conversation we should all be present for.” The other two agree and tell me they will be here in an hour to make a start on getting the cameras installed before it gets dark.
As I walk back into the house, I have no idea how Chelsea is going to react when I confirm her fears last night were not her being paranoid. Somebody tried to climb through Luna's window and I for one will not rest until I find out who scared my girls when they should have felt their safest tucked up in their beds. Whoever it was will pay, I swear it.

Chelsea
Luna and I walk out of my room as Logan walks out of the bathroom with a towel around his waist whilst drying his hair with another one.
“Houdini!” Luna squeals as she rushes towards him and jumps into his arms. He catches her with ease and holds her close whilst kissing her cheek.
“Hey, princess! Did you miss me?” he chuckles as he places her back on her feet.
“Of course, I did. Where are Bambi and Pippin?” she asks, looking around.
“They’re in the garden. Why don’t you go and see them?” he says, smiling as she rushes down the stairs. “Don’t run in case you fall!” he calls after her, but even I know she won’t listen. I walk up to him and wrap my arms around his waist as he kisses me on the lips.
“Do I want to ask why they are in the garden?” I ask nervously. Logan looks down the stairs before nodding towards the bedroom. He leads me in, and I sit on the edge of the bed as he kneels in front of me and takes my hands.
“You weren’t being paranoid, and Luna wasn’t mistaken. Someone climbed up the trellis to get to her window last night.”
I gasp as I place a hand over my mouth, suddenly feeling sick. Someone nearly got into my baby’s room!
“If she hadn’t woken up,” I start but can’t bring myself to finish.
“But she did, Chels, and she raised the alarm. No one will get that close to getting in here again. The guys are installing new cameras outside, and we are going to be checking all entrance points around the house. But I need you to do something for me, and I know you aren’t going to like it, but we need to know everything about who it may be. We also need to know where your ex is.”
I look to the window, where I can hear Luna laughing happily, knowing she will be with two men she loves.
“As far as I’m aware, he’s still locked up, but I will call my lawyers and ask her to double-check for me.”
Logan lifts my hands and presses a kiss to my knuckles.
“There is always another option, and that’s you come and stay with us. It will be cramped, but I don’t mind giving up my room for Luna to sleep in it, and I know the guys won't mind sharing with you,” I can see the smirk on his face and know he is trying to put my mind at ease, but it’s not working.
