“I did, Kitten, but that’s not a good idea if you’re only doing it for me. If something scares you, I don’t want you forcing it on yourself just to make me happy.”
“But I feel safe with you,” said Felix. “I know I said I’d never wear one again, but I was frightened at the time, and you’ve never done anything I don’t want. Besides, I have liked being gagged before, and I want to enjoy it again. It’s not fair if past people ruin something that we could both have fun with. Lance would probably get a big kick out of that if he thought of it.”
“Why did you like it?”

Rainier stroked his head. “Yes, but I have to be comfortable with something too, and maybe fully jumping into it isn’t a good idea. You looked nervous when you crawled up to me.”

Felix rubbed his chin with the back of his paw. “It makes you nervous too, doesn’t it?”
“Yes, it does. I haven’t forgotten you under the bed and how terrified you were. I’d never do what Lance did, but I know the fear of some things doesn’t go away in a blink, and that’s the second time an incident happened while you gagged.”
Felix straightened up on his knees so he could put his arms around Rainier’s shoulders. “Then we’ll take it slow so we both feel comfortable.”
“Good.” Rainier kissed the side of his head and patted his back. “Do you want to wear it now and simply read with me for a bit? I’ll take off your paws so you have full use of your hands, and you can remove the gag any time you want. We won’t do anything sexual.”
“All right.”
Rainier took off the paws, slipped out the tail, and buckled the gag back in.
Reading was a strange thing to do while gagged, but he could see why the Prince had suggested it while they lounged on the cushion with their chosen books. It was a calming activity to do while he got used to the feel and the taste of the leather in his mouth for longer than a few minutes. Rainier stroked his bare side with a free hand while he read. After a while, Felix set down his book and figured he’d had enough time with it in.
“Are you ready to give your jaw a break?”
Felix made a noise of assent before he unbuckled it and pulled it out. “You have this floor to yourself, right? Nobody ever comes up here at night?”
“No one comes up except for Inky.”
“You should take me on a walk through the hall tonight with the gag.”
Rainier smiled at him. “Maybe I will.”
Felix shifted on the cushion and got closer to him. “If I tell you a secret, you won’t laugh at me?”
“Never, Kitten.”
“I’ve kind of always had this fantasy…It’s not that I want to be fucked in public with dozens of people watching or anything like that, but I’ve always wanted to do this thing, and I couldn’t do it at the whorehouse. We didn’t have a yard, and I couldn't go outside naked.”
“What is it you want to do?”

“Is it the danger of possibly being caught?”

“That’s not dumb,” said Rainier. “It seems like you enjoy the public aspect and the idea of pretending to be forced to do something that’s sort of taboo since people don’t walk around outside in the nude.
