I angle my head above my cock and spit down onto my hard length. The makeshift lube increases my pace as I tighten my fist. I work myself hard and fast, grunting with the effort of it. My balls tighten, and the pressure at the base of my cock builds to bursting.

“Godsdamn, baby girl.”

With one last deep inhale of Julianna’s scent, my whole body tenses, and the claws of my feet dig into the floor. I move quickly to bring the T-shirt to my cock and come hard. I let out a choked groan as I shoot my load into the fabric, marking the last piece I have of her. It’s a hollow pleasure in comparison to watching cum drip out of her pussy, but I take what I can get.

My body collapses in on itself as I spill the last of myself into the T-shirt. I ball it up and toss it across the room, not able to look at it.

There is no warm, hazy afterglow. There is only the stark realization that I’ve lived seven hundred years never needing more than my brothers and the Pull, but now, in a matter of days, Julianna made me realize how lonely that existence really is.

Even if the T-shirt is washed, it will always smell like her. I’ll have to destroy it.

ChapterSixteen

TITAN

“Where is she?” I grind out the question, refusing to let her name come out of my mouth. The husky feel of it in the back of my throat conjures the memory of the woman, and it’s a distraction I haven’t had time for all week.

“She said she’d be here by seven.” Eden checks her phone as she walks tight circles in front of the elevator door.

“It’s seven fifteen.” I pace the entryway of the penthouse, twisting the emerald ring on my finger. My gargoyle form itches beneath my glamoured one, and I struggle to keep from tearing the ring off.

“Everything okay, boss?” Rook walks in from the library, car keys in glamoured human hand, Drusila and Violet at his side. “You look like shit.”

A warning growl emanates from my throat. Eden takes several small steps back, and the witches jerk their heads in my direction.

“Has he been like this all week?” Drusila asks, turning to Rook.

“He punched a hole in the Vermeer in the hallway—”

“It was one of his smaller paintings,” I bite out.

Rook moves to my side, stepping between Eden and me. In his human form, he is a good deal shorter than me, but tonight he makes up for it in his whispered menace. “You’re scaring Eden.”

That makes me stop in my tracks. I watch Eden out of the corner of my eye. Her face is relaxed, but she grips the edge of her tablet a little too tightly.

“It won’t happen again.” I give Rook a firm nod, and I watch his body relax. I will apologize to Eden later. She should never feel afraid around the brotherhood.

“Jules could be stuck in traffic,” Eden offers weakly when the silence has gone on too long. “The 101 gets backed up this time of day.”

After that day watching Julianna on her balcony, I hadn’t allowed myself to return. She flat out refused to let me pick her up from her apartment for tonight’s unveiling. Dredd has been monitoring her all week and is keeping an eye on her from the sky as she traverses the city tonight. I check my cell phone, and Dredd’s text confirms what I already know.

“She left late.”

A thousand different punishments for Julianna’s disobedience race through my head, all of them ending with her ass red and her mouth on my cock as pretty tears fall on my lap.

I quickly shake the thought from my head and ignore the sudden jerk my cock makes against the flat front of my suit pants.

“That must be her,” Eden exclaims as the elevator light is illuminated.

Drusila closes the distance between us and pats the small leather drawstring bag in my hand. “Remember, pour the contents at the base of the vault and over the lock mechanism. Give it a minute and it should open.”

“Yes, I got it.” I turn to Rook. “You have what you need?”

Rook nods, pulling out a similar leather bag from his pocket, another spell the coven created to take out the electronics in the loft for several minutes.

“Just a simple spell to knock out anything with a signal within one block. Mercury is in retrograde, so it will be especially powerful today,” Violet says with a proud grin.

“That means once I set it, we will no longer be able to communicate,” Rook interjects.
