“It doesn’t matter at the moment, but I need you to let Warrick go,” she says softly, stepping toward me. “I want to see him hurting as much as you do, but the Principal is about a second away from calling the police.”

“Let him,” I snarl. “Why should this fucker get away with what he does just because of who his daddy is?”

“I know it’s not fair, but you said I had to make a choice,” she says at my side. I look down at her, and there is determination in her eyes. “I didn’t leave then, now don’t you leave me because of this bastard.”

“Bro?” Brantley comes into view behind Shadow, his face is bloody and I can see the bruising starting. “Sam’s right, I’m good, okay?”

I let go and Warrick drops to the floor with a thud, I open my arms and Shadow steps into my side. I examine every inch of her face to get a read on her. My eyes widen when she lifts her hand to my face and I see the state of her knuckles.

“What happened?” I ask, my eyes on her.

“God, you’re as much of a simp as your brother.” Ice shoots through my veins at the voice. I push Shadow behind me as I turn to face the crowd that’s parted like the red sea. “Warrick, get your fucking ass up. You're embarrassing.”

“What the fuck are you doing here, Jade?” I growl in warning, I don’t take my eyes off her. She walks in front of Warrick who now has a smirk on his face as he eyes Shadow. “Bo exiled you!”

“Well, you see, I got bored and what better way to topple a Queen than by taking out the wannabe princess?” she says, her eyes narrowed on Shadow. I step to the side blocking her from view protectively.

“Come at me again, bitch, and watch what happens,” Shadow snarls, and my head whips to the right seeing her standing by my side a feral look on her face.

“Shut it, you waste of oxygen,” Jade spits. “You’re collateral, this is between me and your boy here.”

“I’ll give you the chance to run,” I say, folding my arms across my chest, eyes narrowed on her, and she smirks at me. “You know what will happen if she knows you’re here?”

“Her, her. Her!” she spits. “That’s all it ever is, but what the stupid bitch didn’t realize, Kylo… She can’t reach this far.” She smiles, her teeth shining bright white against the blood red lipstick.

“I can’t decide if you’ve got a brain between your ears,” I say with a chuckle, “Or if you’re that deluded you forget the things that happened?” I say with a smile as I see uncertainty flicker across her face. “That scar didn’t heal too good, did it?”

“Everyone back to class now!” The Principal shouts. “Miss Whitlock get off my property,” he demands, glaring at her. “And Mr. Chambers get to my office!”

He takes off in the direction of his office. Is he seriously expecting me to follow him like a little lap dog? He makes it into the stone archway when he turns to look at me.

“Fuck off!” I shout at him, and I can practically see the steam from here. He starts striding over to us, and I look to Jade. “This isn’t over, bitch!”

I usher Shadow toward the car, and the Principal’s shouts for me to stop roll off my back. We make it to the car, and Shadow jumps in the passenger side. I climb in and start the engine when the back door opens, and I whip around, relaxing a little when I see Brantley climbing into the backseat.

“What am I missing?” Shadow asks from beside me.

I hit call and the phone rings on the hands free. My hands are tight on the wheel as I watch for the call to pick up. I grit my teeth, my finger on the end call button.

“Hey what’s up?” Bo’s voice echoes through the car, I bite the inside of my cheek as I look in the rearview mirror at my friend. “Kylo?”

“I need you to meet me at the house, now,” I demand, putting the car in gear. “Jade’s back.”

The call cuts off. Bo didn’t say anything, but I know those two words have pushed her into motion. I reverse out of my spot, taking off in the direction of the house, the pair of them silent as I swerve through cars so I can get to the house as fast as possible.

My knuckles tapagainst the marble surface as we wait for Bo and the others to get here, because I know for a fact that they will be coming with her. Brantley is sitting on the other side of the room, his eyes keep looking up from his phone to stare at me. Then he thinks better of whatever he’s going to say and starts tapping away on his phone again. The front door crashes open, making both Shadow and Brantley jump. I take a sip of the whiskey in my hand. It's too early for this, but after seeing her face again, I fucking need it.

“What the fuck do you mean she’s back?” Bo’s bellow fills the house as she strides into the room, flanked by the guys all with matching murderous looks on their faces. “I exiled the bitch!”

“Yeah, well she’s back and she had a pop at Shadow, saying some shit about the princess is falling and the Queen is next,” I growl. I should've popped his head off and then dealt with the fucker, because it can’t be good if she’s here now.

“I can’t believe she had the balls to come back here,” she snaps, pacing up and down the room. Shadow’s eyes are scrunched into a frown. I didn’t say anything on the way back here, I was so angry to see the bitch and then find out that she went after Shadow, and it’s making me lose it.

“I’m confused,” Shadow says.

Bo stops and takes a deep breath, and my eyes flick to my brother who is eerily quiet as he watches everything. The others haven’t said anything either and that’s freaking me out.
