Silk. It must be silk.

I’ve likely never touched anything worth half as much as the dress on me, and it shows: it’s extremely pretty.

I hate it. I hate getting to touch luxury as some sort of a twisted reward for all the depravity I’ve endured.

And enjoyed.

“Come on.”

“If you think I’m going anywhere with you, you’re mistaken,” I snap, rushing out of the room, then down a large spiral staircase.

When I reach it, the front door is locked.

Dammit. So much for my exit.

Marius comes to unlock the door, and takes my wrist as he pushes it open.

I try to snatch it back, but it’s useless. Even at the height of my form, I wouldn’t have managed to make him do anything he doesn’t want to, given his strength, but I’m exhausted.

“Campus is what, an hour’s walk? And that’s along the highway, which wouldn’t be safe. Let me drive you.”

I tell myself I only get into the car because I’m likely to pass out on the pavement if I walk, but in truth, I just don’t feel the need to run from him.

Which only proves to me that there’s something wrong with my brain. Like, seriously, what the fuck, Sarah? He could drive me up to the hill, to bury me in a shallow grave.

But his car flies in the direction of campus.

I’m so tired, I don’t even notice we’ve stopped at a drive-thru fast-food place until he sets a steaming bag of food on my lap.

I frown up at him.

“You need to eat before you sleep. And drink, too,” he adds, his attention on the road.

I’m not hungry, but he’s likely right; I haven’t eaten since breakfast. And the smell of grease and carbs emanating from the bag almost knock me out.

Soon, his large, expensive car slides up to the entrance of the common dorms.

By the time I’ve managed to undo my seat belt, he’s circled the vehicle and opened the door like a gentleman.

Ha!

“Eat,” he reminds me. “Hydrate. Then rest.”

“Fuck you,” I grumble without much heat. I don’t know where all my fight, all my energy.

A wolfish grin spreads on his annoyingly beautiful face.

“Maybe next time, your highness.”

THE GAMES

MARIUS

That Sarah is a natural submissive is a fact, but I doubt she's ever properly played; she seemed too surprised by her own reactions to be very experienced in the art of pleasure.
