“Never, baby. Now hold still. I’m almost done.” I lean her back into my chest so I can see what I’m doing over her shoulder.

“I want to be almost done.” I laugh at her.

I move my other hand to her breast and pinch her nipple. I twirl it while I concentrate on the last part of the tattoo. I have the key on a chain on my thigh. Now she’ll have the matching locket on a chain on hers.

“Done.” I place the gun down and take my glove off.

I squeeze some cleanser on the fresh piece and gently pat it dry. Next, I drop a glob of tattoo gel and coat the area before placing a piece of plastic over it. I tape it in place and then kiss her cheek.

“You are the keeper of my heart, and I am the key to your soul,” I whisper into her ear.

“I love you.” She turns her face to mine, and I kiss her lips softly.

“And I love you.” We lean back and just enjoy the quiet moment.

No demands, no drama, no expectations. It’s a perfect moment that I want to freeze forever. Of course, it only lasts a few minutes.

“YO! Open up. I know you’re both in there.” Dragon’s voice comes through the door between his obnoxious banging.

“Fuck off!” Genny yells, but I move her away so I can go answer the door.

“Cover up, baby.” I wink as I flip the locks on the door.

“What the fuck, Dragon?” He’s holding bags and a cup holder with drinks.

“I come with tacos. Syn can’t stand the smell of them right now, so I figured I crash your party. Hey Judge, new ink?” He pushes me out of the way and into my shop.

So much for our night alone.

“Those smell amazing. I don’t think Miya was planning on feeding me tonight.” Dragon takes one of the tacos out and hands it to her.

“Yes, I was, but then he knocked on the door.” She chokes on the bite she just took.

“DAMN! My bad, I’ll go.” Dragon says in mock surrender, knowing damn well I wouldn’t kick him out.

“You two look so good together. I’m happy you’re both finally comfortable enough to be yourself with all of us.” He hands me a taco and drink before biting into one himself.

“Would you believe that we never noticed?” Genny says before sipping on her drink.

“I got it. When you go about your life doing what everyone expects of you, you tend to hide the private parts without realizing it.” He passes out more food, and we talk about the way all our lives have changed over the last few months.

“This year has been crazy,” Genny says.

Our phones all start buzzing, and Dragon gets to his first.

“OH SHIT! It’s about to get worse. Let’s go! Violet is in labor.” I frown.

“It’s too early,” I say, not moving.

“Exactly. Aurora is meeting us at the hospital. Suit up, ladies. Bring firepower.”

The hospital ispure mayhem when we arrive. I don’t know how he pulled it off, but Abel was able to get the maternity ward locked down. All the club members are here and standing guard while the son of the President is born. And since he’s almost two months early, the place is filled with worry and fear instead of excitement.

“Will any of these kids be born normally?” I ask Genny, but Abel answers.

“Have you met us? Syn will probably give birth on a plane. The triplets will be late, and I’m sure we’ll have a million and one stories to tell them all when they are older. The point is they are in the best hands and will be ok. Have faith.” He holds his wife closer, who is crying softly into his chest, worried about her baby brother.
