"Who do you think helped me find this hotel?"

I stood with my mouth still agape. Then he opened the door, and I about passed out. "This is too much," I mumbled.

He took my hand. "No, it's not. You wouldn't let me give you a ridiculously lavish wedding, so you get this instead."

Our bags were sitting on the luggage holders in the corner of the great room. "Last minute?" I teased. He followed my line of sight.

"Okay, okay, you caught me. I planned everything months ago down to every little detail. Will you ever forgive me, Mrs. Brandt?" He went down on one knee and took my hand in his and kissed it lightly.

"You're too much." I laughed. When his hands started inching up my thighs, I knew this was going to be the beginning of a very long and memorable evening. One I had thought about more than my wedding day. It felt like I had wanted this man my entire life, and the time had finally come. I was scared, thrilled, but above all, I was ready.

He kissed his way up my arm, blazing a trail of heat along the way. When he reached my shoulder, he nipped lightly as his hands drifted over my back. The mere touch of him reminded me of my unwavering desire to be with him for the rest of my life. I released a quiet moan while he outlined my jawline with his mouth and finally made contact with my lips. I pressed back, combing my fingers through his hair. My heart had gone from racing to pounding, or was that his heart? We were so close now it was hard to tell if the noises filling the space were his or mine. He wrapped his strong arms around me and lifted me effortlessly, carrying me into the bedroom and putting me down in front of the foot of the bed.

"Don't move," he whispered as he kissed my ear and walked to the lights to dim them.

I was paralyzed with fear. A good kind. He loosened his tie on his way back to me.

"May I?" I grabbed the knot.

"Please."

As I untied the knot carefully, I was well aware of his eyes watching and the lift of one side of his mouth as he looked at me seductively.

"Are you purposely untying that knot slowly to drive me insane?"

"Maybe," I teased.

He grabbed one of my wrists and tore the tie off.

"Impatient, Mr. Brandt?"

"Not impatient. Ready."

He kissed me hard as I fumbled to unbutton his shirt, the impatience between us intensifying quickly. He ripped off the rest of his shirt and pushed me back onto the bed. As he hovered above me, I took in the beauty of his bare skin. My hands glided over his biceps that were bulging from his weight as he held himself above me with very little effort. My fingers followed the trail of muscles over his shoulders to his chest and his abs. A little moan escaped him as my hands explored lower.

"I love you, Bay. I don't know how else to tell you or to show you, but I'll do it every chance I get for the rest of my life. You and me—"

"No matter what," I finished his sentence.

He sat back on his knees and slid my dress up over my head, the silk tickling my skin or maybe it was the touch of his fingertips sliding along my hips and up my sides. Each touch left me sweltering. He finally rested his chest on mine, allowing me to feel his heart beat in unison with mine. He kissed me softly and slid his hand in mine, interlacing our fingers before lifting them above my head. We were forever bound in this moment and all the moments thereafter.
