Gina looked at him blankly. “What do you mean?”

“Don’t play innocent with me, Gina. I won’t fall for your bullshit act. What did Calli have on you that you didn’t want the cops to find?”

Gina glared at him and then she shifted her weight from foot to foot.

“Spit it the fuck out,” he growled. “I don’t have time for your shit.”

“Fine! She had pictures.”

Flynn wanted to strangle her. Instead, he cocked an eyebrow and waited her out.

“Me and several Society members naked engaging in certain acts that would make us all look bad.”

The picture became crystal clear. “You didn’t want the cops to find the pictures because you would be a suspect.”

She nodded.

“Who else was in the pictures?” He had a pretty good idea, but he needed her to say it.

“Peter Webber and Steven Bryson.”

Frozen, Flynn stared at her. He didn’t know a thing about Bryson’s kinks, but he was guessing the pictures were bad if Gina went to such lengths to hide the truth. Really fucking bad. Webber’s involvement surprised him, though. Not that he’d participate, but that Gina would. He must have paid very well. “She blackmailed you to get work?”

“Yes.”

“Why are you telling me now?” Then he got it. “Because you need help returning the stuff and finding the pictures. You’ve turned the place upside down and you can’t come up with them.”

She gave a nod, misery written all over her face.

“Did you kill Calli?”

She shook her head.

He wasn’t sure if he believed her. Of all the stupid shit. This was why running their own girls was a big fucking mistake. Because they did crap like this. He looked out at the ocean. Ghosts suddenly looked so much better than dealing with this fucked up situation. “I will do what I can to find the pictures, but you better be telling me the whole truth. If I find out you lied, things will go downhill fast.”

She said nothing just turned and walked back toward the manor. Flynn let out a breath and took the cell out of his pocket. “Archer.”

“Where the hell are you? You sound like you’re in a windstorm.”

“Something like that.”

“What’s going on with the murdered girl investigation?”

Flynn didn’t know where to start. “A lot,” he said finally. “But for the moment, the two most important things are someone seems to be able to get into the security system and delete video footage. Shah thinks they have the passwords, meaning it’s someone on the inside.”

Maybe it was the wind distorting his hearing, but Archer’s voice was fully neutral when he said, “And the second thing?”

His response threw him off completely.

“Flynn? What’s the second thing?” Archer said.

“The dead girl was stealing from members.”

“Fuck,” Archer said. “Do we have the items she stole?”

“Gina says she has everything but a set of earrings and some pictures. The pictures might present a problem.”

“Do I want to know what the pictures are of?” Archer’s voice was weary now.
