We pass Lucy at her desk. “Lucy, can you clear my calendar for the rest of the week? I will be contactable when you need me, and Flynn will field all calls for me unless they are urgent. If the media are after a statement, refer them to the PR team, please.” I can’t be here right now. I need to get out of London, otherwise it will be like living under a magnifying glass.

“Understood.” And that is why I pay her the big money. I know I can trust her to handle it all, and she knows when it’s time to disturb me.

Entering my office, I close the door a little softer than the last time I walked in here with Victoria.

“Nicholas.” Her gentle voice next to me is a surprise. I imagined she would already be rambling about what just happened, but instead, she is taken aback as much as I am.

Turning toward her, I take her face in my hands. This woman is nothing like I imagined that first morning we met.

“You are incredible,” is all I can manage to say to her, kissing her forehead and pulling her to me. I need to hold her tight and just breathe. I think we both do.

Standing in the silence is what I need to clear my rage. I don’t want that to touch Victoria over something that is not her doing. Slowly releasing her and giving her some space, she is confused as to why I didn’t kiss her like before. But the next time I kiss her, I want her to be totally on board before I take control. Whenever she is close to me, I find it hard to restrain myself, but we met under the strangest circumstances, and I think we need time to take that all in.

“Tori…”

“Victoria.” She looks at me with determination.

“But I thought you didn’t like when people call you that.” I’m confused by her smile.

“Until I heard it off your lips.” And before I have time to say another word, she pulls me down toward her and tells me what she wants. All my plans for restraint are now thrown out the window. She is struggling just as much as I am to stay apart. Her soft lips take mine with all the pent-up frustration of the last hour, and maybe the last few days too.

Her scent is intoxicating, and I can’t hold back even when my brain is telling me to. I slide my hand into her hair, pulling it tight enough to bring out a moan as she opens her lips for me. My tongue traces every part of her mouth, and the hotter the kiss gets, the harder our bodies press together. I’m not in this alone.

I want to fuck her! Desperately!

“You are coming away with me for a few days,” I gasp as we separate our mouths.

“Oh, another order.”

I won’t deny it. But by the look on her face, she loves it.

“Yes.” I’m about to devour her again, but she pulls back from me. Damn woman, why does she always want to use words when actions can seal the deal so much quicker.

“Nicholas, I can’t keep disappearing from work. I’m not like you.” She moves to her bottle of water that was left on the table.

“I’ll fix that,” I say.

She rolls her eyes at my words as she takes a drink. “Money doesn’t fix everything. I have a job to do.” Little does she understand that as soon as they work out who she is, the paparazzi will be stalking her after she was outed with me.

“True, but it helps. Plus, youwillbe working… on me.” I step toward her again, wanting my hands on her. I wink at her, hoping she gets the gist of what I’m saying.

“Nope, stay there, keep your hands off me, big boy, otherwise you know I will agree to anything.” Her words are saying one thing, but her body is telling me something different. The sparkle in her eyes, the blush on her cheeks she gets when she is aroused, and her breathing is now quicker than it was when we walked into the room.

“That’s the idea. Now, I’m making the phone call to your boss again, this time explaining that we are going to work on your ideas for the next few days so we can make some excellent progress.”

“My work ideas…”

“Among others. Plus, I have some suggestions of my own…” Ignoring her words, I take her arm and pull her toward me, while a small giggle comes from her.

“Please, come with me, not an order but an invitation.”

She lays her head on my chest above my heart and finally gives in.

“Okay… but we are working.” She lifts her head with the most devilish look, like she already knows the moment we leave here, work is going out the window. “Where are we flying to this time?”

“Oh, I see, you just want me for the private jet,” I tease, though I’ve never gotten the impression it is about money for Victoria.

“Absolutely, and of course your big… assets.” That’s it, we are getting out of here. I’m not going to be responsible for what happens in here if we keep flirting like this.
