“That depends, how you can make it worth my while.” She pretends to give it a hard thought.

“I can make worthwhile. Needing new clothes. Skinny bitch my size.”

“You want her clothes, Nico?”

“They bit cheap, but I no posh bitch.”

“Sure.” I hope he's still trying to intimidate her, but I'm already mentally planning a shopping order.

“Hasn't my brother paid for my wellbeing?” Tiffany reminds me. “It's that why you haven't actually mentioned anything horrible?”

“I'm just warming you up for the moment the deal with Porter ends.”

“It's not going to end. You're going to keep my brother, and the cost is going to be my freedom. You need to ask yourself if you are willing to pay.”

Damn bitch has hit the nail on the head. She set her brother up for this and I fell right into her trap. We both know Porter would do anything for her. She’s right, I will willingly let her go in the end.

“It seems you have no problem paying for your sins with your brother's life.” I’m getting frustrated with her arrogant attitude. She just has to ask for her brother in return for the dealer to redeem herself in my eyes, but it’s becoming increasingly clear that it might not be the result.

“OK. Well, I need to think about it.” She sits back on the bed and checks her nails. As though this is just another day, and her brother isn’t giving his life for hers. I need to keep calm, killing her would just upset my treasure.

“But you admit to taking my stash?”

“Drugs are terrible. And every kilo someone can take from you is a kilo off the street.”

“You're not playing hero. You would have taken the drugs to the police if that was the case.”

“We all know you have the police in your back pocket,” she says with a haughty laugh. “Not worth taking it to them.”

“You're telling me that you're risking your life to steal from me, then driving an hour away to dump it in your druggie mum's drains?” I can’t keep the look of repulse off my face. I can’t look that stupid that I'd believe that.

“Yes.”

“Enough of this!” I bellow at her. The shocked look on her face is worth losing my control. “Tell me what you want for the name goddammit?”

“I'm not telling you his name!” She shrieks back at me, and then quickly pulls herself together and answers, “But for one hundred grand, he and I will leave this place and you'll never have to worry about us again.”

Easy money to throw away, but this isn't about getting rid of a nuisance. This is about punishing a thief and making an example to anyone else thinking they can steal from me. I let two runners live today for stealing a few baggies from me; they barely cost me a grand. This bitch has been stealing whole bricks. She's made that much money off me already. I need to show Porter the reality of who his sister is. To show him who he is protecting. He has to decide to stay for himself and his mother, not this bitch.

Porter

Ahandshakesmy shoulder until I can't ignore it any longer.

“Wake up precious.”

“Fuck off.” My hand tries to swat him away, but it barely moves.

My head lifts to remind myself that I'm lying completely naked on Knox's bed, although covered by a blanket.

“It is time for you to perform again, my treasure.”

“Huh?” Does he mean pole dancing or sex?

“I'll be having dinner. You will eat after. I just need a table decoration.”

“No.” Not that he'll listen. I am nothing but a pawn to him now that I admitted the hold he has over me.
